CONTINUAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT REQUEST

Project Title: Single Spindle Machines Project No.: 15-002

PROJECT JUSTIFICATION:

There is a limited availability of twin spindle lathes. Use of single spindle lathes slows down the production process
on some of the product due to additional part handling.

PROJECT GOALS/TARGETS:

Make chuck modifications to accommodate two stages machining on a single spindle lathe.

PROJECTED BENEFITS:

- Improved material handling time.

- Increased possibility of detecting any issues with the consequent operation.
- Shortened QA approval time from two to one first off.

RESOURCES REQUIRED:

-The project leader will be the Process Eng. Randy Heath.
