G.S.R. 77(E).-ln cxercise of the powcrs confered by scction 8 of thc Cinematograph Act, 1952 (37
of 1952), the Central Govemment bcreby makes these rules further to amend the Cinematograph
(Ccrtifi cation) Rules, I 983, namely:-
2. ln the Cinematograph (Certification) Rules, 1983, for rule 36, the following shall be substituted,
namcly:-
"36, Fees.-(l ) A iec shall be charged tbr thc examination of cvery film at the rates laid down in the
following Table and the same shall bc paid either in cash or remitted by postal order or bank draft to
the regional centre of the Board where the film is to be examined.

(2) Fee for the examination of a film for ccrtifying alterations under rule 33 shall be calculated only
with refcrence to the reel or reels (or cassettc or cassettcs), in which the portion or portions exciscd,
added, coloured or otherwise altercd occur and for the purposes the rate specified in the table
afbresaid for original certification shall be applicable:
Provided that where the alteration is by excision, the fee chargeablc shall be at the rate ofone hundred
and fifty rupees per cach endorsement.
(3) A fee ofonc hundred and fifty rupees shall be paid for a duplicate copy ofthe ccrtificate.
(4) Il the event of an application for ccrtification being withdrawn before thc film is cxamined, thc
Board may on an application made to it in that behalf, refund to the applicant the amount of fee paid
towards thc examination ofthe film after deducting twcnty-five per ccnt. ofthe amount so paid.
(5) In the cvent of an applicant failing to present a runnable print before the Examination Committcc
or the Revising committee on the day and time and at thc place fixed for such examination, an
additional fee of twenty-fivc per cent. of the fee payable for cxamination of the fil1i under this Table
shall bc paid before another place, date and time for the examination of thc film is fixed.

(6) If, by mistake, miscalculation or such other reason, the applicant pays towards fee for the
examination of any film any amount in excess of the amount of fee payable under these rules, the
Board may, on an application made in that behalf, within a period of one year from the date of
certification ofthe film, refund to the applicant the amount so paid in excess.
(7) Any person who applies to the Board for information regarding the certification or any other
particular in respect of a film shall along with the application, pay a search fee of thirty-five rupees
per each title of the film."
