I am working on a project titled “teacher perceptions on the use of ICT to engage students and its
influence on their teaching approaches” for the class, ‘Researching Teaching and Learning 2,’ at Western
Sydney University. As part of the project, I am collecting information to help inform the design of a
teacher research proposal.

My project involves understanding how teachers use Information and communications technology. this is
done to understand if these methods engage students in learning as engagement is an integral part in
academic success. ICT has also become a major part in preparing students for the workforce. I hope to
find if ICT has been successful in engaging students in school and what methodologies of incorporating
ICT are most successful. This data will be collected through a short survey.
