Do you know that the Moon has water and it was found by India's mission Chandrayaan
India has now sent an even more highly complex, advanced mission named Chandrayaan 2
last year. Chandrayaan-2 was launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota,
India, aboard a Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV) rocket on July 22, 2019
and it reached the lunar orbit on Aug. 19, 2020.
During the Sept. 6, 2020 (Sept. 7, 2020 IST) moon landing attempt, ISRO officials lost contact
with the Vikram moon lander when the probe was was only 1.3 miles (2.1 kilometers) above
the lunar surface.
Was the mission a failure or success? Get answers to all these questions in this interactive
