PROJECTILE MOTION
OBJECTIVE:-
 To understand the relationship
between the horizontal and vertical
motion of an object.
 To learn to find the intial velocity and
time of flight of an object.
PRELAB:-
1) a) 200 m/s
b) 0 m/s2

c) 0 m/s
d) -9.8 m/s 2

y 1
f = y i +(v y )i ∆ t − g (∆ t )2
2

e) 50=0+(0)t- (1/2)(-9.8)(t) 2
50=-4.9(t) 2

t=3.19 seconds

f) x f =xi + v x ∆ t

x f =0+200∗3.19

x f =638 meters

2) a) 200( cos(65°)) =84.52m/s

b) 0 m/s 2

c) 0 m/s
d) -9.8 m/s 2

e) h=(1/2)gt 2

t=3.19seconds
f) x=v t=84.52*3.19=269.62m

CONCLUSION:-
1) Random errors in this experiment
could be due to the force of which
the ball was launched each time
and ,air resistance changes in the
room between each attempt
.Systematic errors in this
experiment could be due to
eyeballing the height when the ball
was launched ,but were less a factor
than random errors because we
believe the equipment was utilized
correctly during this experiment
;proof this can be seen in that all of
the measurement taken are very
similar to each other.
We have reduced the errors in this
experiment by taking the
measurement of the launches
multiple times and taking the
average of the measurement to be
a good estimate.
