Paragraph is a piece of composition that precisely explains or defines a single topic or idea.

Paragraph writing is considered a basic unit of writing any topic. As paragraph is considered the basic
unit that lead to make a detailed essay or composition. Paragraph mainly consists of four essential
elements that make it more understandable and logical writing on any given topic. These four elements
are defined as under:

1. Unity: Unity can be defined as a logical connection of every idea to the basic and original concept of
the given topic. It has core importance because the writer need to share every point explaining the main
topic and don't distract the flow of understanding of the reader.

2. Order: Order is simply a sensible organisation of the supporting sentences of a paragraph. There
should be a justifiable arrangement of the ideas as the main theme of the paragraph can succeed in
explaining its message.

3. Coherence: Coherence is a form of connectivity. It is a form of expression in which every following

concept has its link or connectivity to the previous one. This element adds charms of making a
paragraph natural in tone and delivery.

Completeness: It is the formation of a well developed piece of composition that doesn't lack any vital
point and describe the given topic almost perfect.

There are four types of paragraph.

1. Descriptive Paragraph: A type of paragraph that describes a given topic by presenting it actual facts
and figures. This type of paragraph simply arise the sensuous approach of our five senses.

Narrative Paragraph: A type of paragraph that focuses on explaining a topic in the form of story telling.
Such paragraphs are mostly explaining the topic like A Rainy Day, A Winter Night, A Car Accident etc.

3. Expository Paragraph: A type of paragraph that defines a given topic in the form of sequential
explanation as if it gives instructions. It can also explain a topic in a step by step description of a method
or process.

Persuasive Paragraph: A type of paragraph that focuses on the explaining of given idea in order to
motivate, inspire and make someone agree to the writer's idea or point of view.
