Axel Rüger

Director of the Van Gogh Museum, Amsterdam

Axel Rüger has been the Director of the Van Gogh Museum since 2006, making him the
representative of a global brand and protector of an international icon. He has been responsible
for numerous exhibitions and projects in this position, including the new presentation of the
permanent collection in the Rietveld Building (2014), Van Gogh Year 2015 and the blockbuster
exhibition Munch: Van Gogh (2015), the realization of the new Entrance Building (2015), the
Van Gogh Museum Professional Services project (2016) and of course the travelling Meet
Vincent van Gogh Experience (2016).

Adriaan Dönszelmann joined the Van Gogh Museum on 1 July 2011 as Operations Manager.
He was appointed Managing Director two years later. Adriaan is responsible for the Staff
Office, Operations (ICT, P&O, Financial Affairs, Security, Facilities) and Public Affairs
(Marketing, Communication, Publications, Fundraising, Van Gogh Museum Enterprises B.V.

V. Willem van Gogh
Advisor to the Board of the Van Gogh Museum

Vincent Willem van Gogh (1953) is the great-grandson of Theo van Gogh, artist Vincent van
Gogh’s brother. Having made his career as a lawyer, Willem van Gogh joined the Van Gogh
Museum in 1999. He was initially responsible for the museum’s shops, before becoming
Advisor to the Board in 2009. In his current role, Willem van Gogh works as an ambassador to
expand and strengthen the museum’s network.
Peter Tabernal

Peter Tabernal founded Artcomm in 2014 especially for the purpose of entering the joint
venture Meet Vincent van Gogh Experience BV. Peter started his entrepreneurship in 2000
and was responsible for the concept and execution of extensive campaigns and executive
production management for clients such as Cirque du Soleil, Holiday on Ice, De La Guarda,
Electronic Arts, Dutch broadcasting companies AVRO & VARA, to name a few. Peter was
the Managing Director of Amsterdam Expo 2012-2015, and during this time also acted as
Executive Producer of several international travelling exhibitions, amongst them blockbusters
Body Worlds, Tutankhamun, Titanic, Pixar and The Art of the Brick.
Mr. LAM Ching Kui
Chairman of Wai Chun Culture Investment Limited

Mr. LAM Ching Kui (Mr. Lam) started his career working for the Chinese government before
he resided and set up his own business in Hong Kong. He is the founder of Wai Chun
Investment Fund (the Fund) and the chairman of the board of directors of two listed
companies owned by the Fund. He is responsible for the overall strategic planning of the
Fund. Mr. Lam has solid experience in merger and acquisition, project investment, security
investment and financing. He has maintained a good relationship with the Chinese
government and financial institutions, both in Hong Kong and Mainland China. Mr. Lam also
has been fulfilling his social responsibility while keeping a low profile, devoting more than
20 years in building schools, and supporting charitable works in education and public
health.
