Significant Case Facts:

Social media gave a huge impact in the lives of every people especially for the
millenials because in their generation technology became a part if their lives that most
of them became dependent to it. Social media also helps people to connects others
around the world. That is why companies all took this as an opportunity in hiring or
recruiting possible employees that have a great potential for their corporation. But, as
was mentioned millenials were the ones who really had the edge in terms of the use of
social media the question now is what about the people that are not yet using this type
of medium? That is why issue rises in terms of work recruitment between social
media users and non users. These are the sole reason why social media recruitment is
still not being accepted by everyone:

limited population in accessing the use of social media

It is evident that most people nowadays are using technology to access social
media but not every has the opportunity and the knowledge in using it because there
are still some people who cannot afford in buying gadgets to access social media
apps. Same old people also see this as their disadvanage because they are not use to
this type of recruiment and cannot catch up with the use of technology taht why they
see this as a struggle for thgem in finding their job. Location can also be a factor for
others especially for the people who lives in a remote area or having difficulty in
reciveing internet data.

Users can degarde the name of the company

With companies using social media in recruiting, hackers can be a danger for
them especially if the have been hacked and confidential files vcan be exposed by the
hacker. Bashers can also destroy companies name especially the ex-employees that
did not have a good experience in the company that can comment or post something
negative about the company. Moreover, there a lot of trolls and anonymous users in
the internet today that tend to ruin some pages, sites, and personalities for their own
interest that can also affect or ruin company names.

Effectiveness of social media recruitment rather than the traditional approach

According Bassman(2013) one of the most important duty that the company must
have is recruitment because with it a company may neither work nor survive. That is
why HR manager tend to travel to other countries just so they could find the most
fitted employee for their company. He also explained that traditional method is more
of face to face or actual type of interview while modern approach which deals with
social media is more of synchronous and asynchronous type of method. But, based on
the study traditional method assure safety just like what was mentioned above hackers
might be able to take control of the site of a certain company. Also, basher can give
their opinion in the page of the company whether it is true or a lie that can ruin a
company’s name. That is why some still claims that traditional is way more effective.

Problem:
Currently, the game in recruiting has changed in which technology is also took a
part of it with the use of social media. According to Woodman C. (2017) some still
see the traditional method of recruitment is still better than the social media
recruitment because for them it is more formal just like interview in an office and
people who are not used to technologies can still can apply. That is why the research
saw that the main problem for the study is the Effectiveness of social media
recruitment rather than the traditional approach. Furthermore, advantage and
disadvantage would be shown below to know which of them will be more effective in
today's society.
