Assignment 3
MOTIVATIONAL VIDEO
Oscar Hartman. 10.11.2017. How much do you want this ?! motivation! Russia. Retrieved from :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3XKfP8gbd9k (Russian video)

This video is about a teenager who was doing swimming. He had training every day but was still unable
to win. He was always getting only 3rd place. He decided to go to his couch and said that he is rid of
losing and that he wants to be like him, he wants to win. He wanted to get advice, but he told him to
swim 3 times the length of the pool under water (without breathing) with only using legs. Guy wanted
to prove that he can do it and started swimming. After 25 m he started thinking that he will not be able
to swim more, he wanted to breathe , his legs were tired, but he continued swimming. After 12 more
meters he started to stop himself from stopping swimming , felt headache. When he finished 2 nd 25
meters and started 3rd ones every cell, whole body wanted to get oxygen, every second was as if
eternity. At 65m distance he started to lose consciousness and he stopped swimming and started
breathing. He came to his trainer.

Trainer said that if he wants to be like him, wants to win , success, then he will get it only if he will want
that as much as he wanted to breathe. All the obstacles that he will face in his life exist only to check
how much he wants that. When you are so short of air you are not interested in anything except oxygen.
You must want success as much as you want to breathe.

When you are thinking about any goal you need to ask yourself “how much do I want that” . If you just
want it a bit you need to remind yourself that you will not get your desires , you will only get what you
want as oxygen. We often want something but apparently, we want that less than hanging out with
friends, than eating a cake. Most people do not want their goals as much as they want to sleep in the
morning or eat sweets. You need to think about your goal . If you really want it then it is time to check
your will , discipline , limits. You need to start doing that now and put your maximum effort to become
better than you were yesterday. Against all odds , breaking all obstacles which stop people who do not
want that as much as you.

In my opinion that main thing when we are talking about your goals, desires and motivation. We can
decide a lot of reasons why you want that , why you need that. You can share that and make people
believe you. You can believe in that as well. But if you do not get that you do not really want that . And I
think it is really hard to say to yourself and others that you do not really want that . That is why we are
living In the world of illusions where people think that they can become rich without doing something ,
can become fit without sport , can become educated without reading books etc. I feel sick when hear
people plans like passing exam from certain people without learning because I know that it will not
happen, and I feel even worse when say similar stuff myself. When I know that I am not really going to
do that. And to become yourself in our world and I respect people who succeeded In their goals,

6
become #1 , but still there are people who want something but do not share and say that they reached
their goal.

Assignment 4
Reflect on a book about self-development
Thomas J. Stanley

Stop Acting Rich: ...And Start Living Like A Real Millionaire

I am not a fan of reading motivational stuff about self-developing and earning money and I never paid
for that since I consider that my parents experience and advices are more effective, they have a lot
friends who are connected with business and they will not hide important factors which will not be
mentioned in the books. And for me reaching the level of my parents will be a real success, but I
understand the success of books like “Rich dad Poor dad” and others. Most people want to become
better than their parents, some don’t believe them or think that they are not experienced enough. I
tried reading some books of that type to expand my range of vision. Most of books are full of banality
which is not really working ( not enough to succeed ) .

But I still liked some ideas mentioned in Thomas Stanley book “Stop Acting Rich: ...And Start Living Like A
Real Millionaire”.

He shares the idea that nowadays people tend to look like rich when they are not rich at all. And to be
closer to them in future you need to start saving more, work more on budget distribution.

That factor was connected with my life so much. Rich people in that book were shown exactly same
which I see around me . Without expensive phones, regular clothes etc. We try to compare ourselves
with super rich people for whom buying OFF-WHITE hoodie is same % of income as buying sandwich for
us. But we are still buying that for ourselves. To look rich when you are not . To get attraction , views
from others . I understand that I need to plan my budget, live with spending less and saving more but it
is extremely difficult when you are used to more expensive stuff. I got that information through 3
sources actually : parents’ lifestyle , their friends’ lifestyle and now this book. I hope that I will be able
to overcome my wants and become rich, not just to look rich. But I am not sure that I really want that….
Maybe having new iPhone makes your life better than having money for multiple iPhones without
actually having it? That is the question which you need to answer yourself before every purchase. Even
before buying 2$ milk instead of 1.5$ milk.

7
Assignment 5
My dream board

My dream is very simple : I want immortality ( being always same age, like in Twilight) and resurrection
ability to make all my family live forever. When you are immortal you can reach all your desires which
people might decide to put in their dream boards : getting lots of money, travel all over the world,
reading all the books , having lots of girls/boys etc. .

To support the idea of immortality we need to have a planet where to live. So, my dream is to make our
Earth immortal as well or having another planet where we will be able to live.

And my last dream will not happen for sure even if we become immortal, but I still want to highlight it.

That is justice. I do not really like that some people have to do tasks for super low amount of money.
When my father asked his friend why he is paying his workers such a low salary and even fines them he
answered “ на мой век лохов хватит» what means that there are enough dumb people for his life.

Some people have to get any job to feed their families .

To make a more or less equal world will be really hard because there are people who become richer
every year and people who stay on the same place or even become poorer. But I still hope that every
person in this galaxy will be able to be happy .
