Question: Discuss in one paragraph for each, how the two US presidential candidates show their

attitude toward opponents how they deal with opponents' diverse perspectives?

President Trump, as usual, being aggressive and ignore his opponents’ opinion or anyone who

has an opposite perspective with him. During the first debate, he repeatedly interrupted or even insulted

Biden’s ideas and words even when Biden had not finished his sentences yet. This is not the first time I

saw Trump’s rudeness in dealing with opponents’ diverse perspectives. Looking on the bright side, he is

ambitious, competitive and hardly shows off his anxious or nervous. He is direct and does not afraid of

confronting. However, these traits can easily turn him into a person who is reluctant to listen to feedback

or opposite ideas. Sometimes, he is even being overbearing, say without thinking, or even apply his

thought on other people, and force them to follow. In the first debate, his personality and actions make

the debate unconstructive but chaos. And it seems to be not a public debate for national issues but a

personal criticize or attack.

Biden, on the opposite side, tends to be more neutral, when disagreement occurs, he attempts to

smooth things over. Keeping calm and listening to opponents’ perspective but also can debate in a well-

manned tone, Biden made it till he was being overwhelmed by Trump's interruption. Criticizing or

deposing opponents is unavoidable in the presidential campaign but in terms of other people's health,

personal life, and family, Biden's response to Trump's COVID diagnose is considered to be appropriate

and decent. During the debate, he could criticize Trump for not taking seriously on COVID or ignoring

the importance of wearing mask in public place, however, when Trump’s positive test announcement

came out, he stopped criticize his opponent, choose not to laugh at people’s difficulty and started to raise

public awareness instead.
