ARFA KARIM TOWER

DESIGNED BY:
As we know that Lahore has a vibrant IT industry but the majority of its software houses were
scattered all over the city’s various commercial areas. Keeping in mind the global practice in the
IT industry, Arfa Software and Technology Park project was initiated in 2012. Back then, the
project’s name was Lahore Technology Park but it was later renamed to honor the memory of
late Arfa Karim, a Pakistani computer prodigy who became the youngest Microsoft Certified
Professional at age nine in 2014. ASTP is the country’s largest Information and Communications
Technology Park. The main building consists of 17 floors and is 106 meters tall. On 15 January
2012, Chief Minister of Punjab Mian Shehbaz Sharif announced a name change of Software
Technology Park to Arfa Software Technology Park after World's youngest Microsoft certified
professional Arfa Karim, who died at the age of 16. Another motivation for the project was to
disseminate the Government of Punjab’s IT vision to the general public and businesses.

LOCATION:
Arfa Karim Tower is located at Ferozpur road, Lahore. It is adjacent to ITU university which is
famous for software engineering. It has a park in its surroundings. It is situated on the main
road which is the commercial area of Lahore.
