INTRODUCTION- Site strategies, Vision and goals

The 75 acres site lies 40 kms away from the main

building a culture of learning within and beyond the classroom but will
also give purpose and value to student's work . Moreover,
interaction of students within the community will lead to the
formation of a larger community with more awareness about their INTERACTION

Environmental Analysis
Shadow Range - June Shading Device Design
SOUTH Facade
On this façade, the harshest amount of sunlight is incident and hence
minimizing the direct sunlight coming in, in the summer from this facade
needs to be done via appropriately sized overhang. Overhang for these
windows is designed to absolutely nullify the amount of direct sunlight
10 AM 3 PM 5 PM entering through the windows.

Shadow Range - December

In this iteration, a recessed window is made to obtain the desired results. Window is
recessed by 700mm gives a Daylight Factor of 0-20%.
10 AM 3 PM 5 PM RECESS Window: B= 6500mm, H= 1300mm, Recess= 700mm

Radiation Analysis EAST Facade

This façade has sunlight incident on it when the temperatures are low in the
morning and hence is welcomed inside. However The facade needs to be
completely shaded post noon.

Solar Summer- South West

In this iteration, in order to shade the window from 10a.m. to noon, an

overhang of 600mm depth is added along with the vertical shade.
Solar Winter- South West

Focus Area
Chosen - FOCUS AREA 1
This Focus Area cuts through a number of major programs of the
FOCUS AREA 1 building. A key aspect which i would like to explore would be the
connecting bridges and their construction detail. The Focus Area shows
a major portion of the circulation and the idea of a collaborative space
between students and Community.
Also the Requisite HVAC facilities, the system where also included in this
focus area. The chosen focus area includes spaces, skybridges, and
building envelope.

Identification of the FOCUS AREA

Identification of the focus area must be a carefully conceived
judicious dependent on a number of components. The Key to
opening the one which best explains a design schematic lies in the
understanding of the design directives driving the design.
Collaboration, tectonics, and services are all crucial points to be
kept in mind while designing a building.
