25ml of domestic bleach.
Assuming the bleach has a density of 1g/ml; the % of sodium hypochlorite in the domestic
bleach.
Assuming the density of water is 1g/cm3:
Density = mass/volume
1g/cm3 = m/25cm3
1g/cm3 (25cm3) = m
25g = m
By calculating the molar mass of sodium hypochlorite we get:
Molar mass (NaClO) = 23 + 35.5 + 16
= 74.5 g/mol
By calculating the mass of sodium hypochlorite we get:
Mass = number of moles * molar mass
By calculating the percentage of sodium hypochlorite in domestic bleach we get:
% NaClO = (Mass/25g) *100%
