Activity Guide and Evaluation Rubric – Stage 5 Review and abstract

1. Activity Description

With this activity, you are expected to achieve the following learning
outcomes:

Write abstracts in the scientific article style, to properly manage the terminology of
environmental toxicology in English

The activity consists of:

The student must deliver an abstract and the bibliographic review with at least three articles
in English.

Step 1:

Individual

1. Students should look up on web sciences, SCOPUS, ScienceDirect and JACS


Journals with another scientific databases, at least three articles in English. This
articles must be related to the topic you are working.

2. Write the abstract and the keywords (At least 5 Keywords). This activity depends
on the Bioassay activity for that your abstract must reflect the experimental results
obtained in stage 4.

3. The document must have a Title, Author, institution and affiliation (for the case
of students, must be referenced in the article the CEAD and as affiliation Graduate
student of environmental Engineering or the career of each one).

4. Publish your abstract and the references consulted in the discussion forum.

Remember that only references in English are valid.

Collaborative

1. Each student reviews the classmate's abstract and, by voting, chooses which one
should be considered to include in the final group work.
2. Once the abstract is chosen, each student makes their contribution to improve it.
Students must ensure that the content of a scientific abstract is complied with

document. The document must contain:
a) Cover page
b) Individual abstract following the structure of a scientific article (Title, author,
affiliation and institution).
c) Abstract chosen and improved by the group.
d) Bibliographic review that each student carried out on the subject of the
project. Each member must provide 3 different references in the English
language, so in total there would be 15 references and must comply with APA
standards.
4. Another student delivers the compiled document using the assessment environment.

2. General Guidelines for the Development of Evidences to Submit

For Collaborative evidences, consider the following:

 All members of the group must participate with their contributions in the
development of the activity.

 In each group a single member will be chosen to submit the requested product in
the environment indicated by the teacher.

 Before submitting the requested product, students should check that it meets all
the requirements mentioned in this activity guide.

 Only the members of the group that participated with contributions during the
time assigned for the activity should be included as authors of the submitted
product.

Please keep in mind that all individual or collaborative written products must comply
with the spelling rules and presentation conditions defined in this activity guide.
Regarding the use of references, consider that the product of this activity must
comply with APA style.
In any case, make sure you comply with the rules and avoid academic plagiarism.
You can review your written products using the Turnitin tool found in the virtual
campus.

Under the Academic Code of Conduct, the actions that infringe the academic order,
