"To me, a leader is someone who holds her- or himself accountable for finding potential in people and processes." Brene Brown, author and researcher.
Being a director bears a lot of responsibility. It requires certain characteristics,
technical skills, and also even your personality should be well maintained for a director is a role model not only to teachers but also to the students. According to Click (2014), here are some specific skills a director should possess: demonstrate teambuilding and collaboration skills, ability to coordinate with diverse people, strong written and verbal communication skills, community involvement and maintains an optimistic attitude. Those are only few characteristics a director should possess. As an educator and maybe a directress in the future, there are a lot of gray areas in my skills and characteristics that needs to be polished to be an effective educator as well as directress. Being optimistic is the attitude that I sometimes lack, there are times that I get hopeless whenever I face a problem that I feel hard to solve. However, this attitude helps me be more realistic in finding solutions and losing hope is a part of human nature. But always keep in mind that every problem has a solution, everything might be difficult for now, but it doesn’t last forever. Being a director doesn’t only come with great power and responsibility, it would also give you a chance to influence and guide people to become a better version of themselves.
