Low Speed Safety System
Function

• A forward looking sensor continuously measures the distance to


vehicles /objects in front

• System works below 30kph

• If the vehicle in front brakes suddenly and the Low Speed Safety
System determines that a collision is likely, the brakes are pre-
charged.

• If the driver remains inactive, the car applies the brakes


automatically and reduces engine torque.

Function

• If the relative speed difference between the two vehicles is less than
15 kph then the system may help the driver entirely avoid the
collision.

• Between 15 and 30 kph the focus is on reducing speed as much as


possible prior to the impact.

• In case of driver override (gas pedal, avoidance steering) the auto


braking is deactivated

• The system works automatically and is always active when the


vehicle starts-up, it can be deactivated by the driver if desired
