Brendan,
We do have the HVOF vendor set up now. We shouldn’t have an issue doing it.
4 cylinder cranks are 3500.00 to be done.

We do camshaft reconditioning also and have a repair for lobes that are out of
limits.

Sincerely,

Chris,

Any update on the HVOF availability?

I have a C85 crankshaft that the center journal is

below the 0.020 regrind limit of the Aircraft
Specialties STC; can this be brought back to
standard?

Do you also recondition camshafts?

Thank you

Brendan

I’m working with an HVOF vendor for quotes now. Hope to k ow

something back on that in the next few days.

Hard chrome repair runs 3k back to standard. It’s the same

process used in cylinders and hardly wears at all. All of the
cranks I currently have out are spoken for.

Any chance there is an O200 crank in the
batch not spoken for?

What are to pros & cons of hard chrome vs

HVOF? Do you think the HVOF process will
be an available option in 2023?

Are you able to give me a ballpark cost for

a reconditioned crank?

Brendan,

We have FAA approval to do hard chrome or HVOF.

I’m currently trying to find a vendor for the HVOF
but I have my first batch of the small continental
cranks at my chrome vendor now. This is approved
for certified aircraft.

Chris,

Austin at Poplar Grove Airmotive

told me you have an approval
for a HVOF repair process for
small Continental
crankshafts to bring them
back to standard size
journals; is this for certified
aircraft? My overhaul is
currently stalled because I
can't source a C90/O200
crankshaft.

Please send me information and

pricing.
