Lab 01 – Enable Application for Private Generic URL

Objective: Demonstrate the ability to enable an application to
include Generic URLs in Related Information Application
Framework.  30 minutes
Overview
Marketing features  Integrate E1 with external websites.
In this exercise you will:
 Enable EnterpriseOne Application Form for Generic URL
Assumptions
 EnterpriseOne Enterprise and HTML Servers are Installed and Services are Up and
Running
 Tools Release 8.98.4+ is Installed
 Related Information Framework ESU (E9.0 SAR 8958628) Installed, Package Built and
Deployed, and Special Instructions (Tables Generated)
 Related Information Framework Tables Generated
1. Using a browser, sign into the JDE EnterpriseOne HTML Client with the JDE user
and password.
NOTE: This can either be OAS or Weblogic, but be sure that the E1 Services and
corresponding HTML server is functional.
Sign in with your lab user/password
2. Start the Related Information application via fast path P952332 and click the go
arrow button.
3. Click the button to create a new record and enable an application form to be
available in Related Information framework.
4. Enter the following information into the form and click the button.
NOTE: Published Option “Do not allow user to publish URL content” allows the
user/role to create private Generic URL which is not shared by others, to minimize
the impact on other users.

Lab 02 – Create Static Generic URL Tab

Objective: Demonstrate the ability to create a Generic URL to an
external website within an E1 application.  30 minutes
Overview
 Add a Generic URL to an external website with an E1 application.
Assumptions
 Lab 01 Completed
and password.
Sign in using your lab user/password
2. Start the Address Book application via fast path P01012 and clicking the go arrow
button.
3. On the Work with Addresses form, enter some search criteria and click the button.
4. Place a check mark in front of any record and then click the button.
5. Notice the new minimized pane at the bottom of the form. It has only been enabled
for the user defined in lab 1 on this form (W01012A). Click the Add button
within the pane to create a new tab within the pane for related information.
NOTE: If the pane does not show the “Welcome” information, expand the pane by
hovering over the Up/Down bar in the middle of the frame, click, hold
and drag to desired size.
6. Provide the template information into the available fields and click the Save
button within the pane.

NOTE: The Name field will translate to the Name of the tab within the Related
Information pane.
NOTE: The URL must start with either an http or https URL.
7. When it is done saving, it will return with the zip code (80111) centered within
Google Maps. Click the OK button on the Address Book Revision application.
Lab 03 – Create Context Sensitive Generic URL Tab

Objective: Demonstrate the ability to create a context sensitive
URL to an external website within an E1 application.  30 minutes
Overview
 Add a context sensitive URL to an external website with an E1 application.
Assumptions
 Lab 01-02 Completed
1. To make the above URL more useful, we can map the zip code from each address
book record as a parameter.
Using a browser, sign into the JDE EnterpriseOne HTML Client with the JDE user
and password.
Sign in using your workshop user/signon.

3. On the Work with Addresses form, enter some filter criteria and click the button.
5. The Address Book detail should shows up with Google Maps in the related
information frame. Click on the Inspect Link button in the upper left hand corner
of the pane to get back to the link properties.
6. On inspection, the previously available fields will be disabled. Click on the Edit
button in the upper left hand part of the pane to modify and link parameters.
7. In the Define URL Parameters section, click on the check box for Override
Parameter.
8. Once checked, the map form fields to URL parameters below the box will activate.
Locate the parameter for the zip code (q) and select from the drop configure down
box is mapped to.
9. Once the configuration type is changed, the Parameter Value column will be changed
from 80111 to “click any control on the form”, which means that the application is
waiting for a field to be selected on the application. Within the Address Book
Revision form, change the tab to 2-Mailing and select the Postal Code field.
10. The parameter for the q field will change to reflect the data dictionary item for the
field that has been selected (ADDZ in this case). Click the Save button when
finished.
The application should reload with the current address book’s postal code as it’s map
centralized. Click the OK button on the Address Book Revision application.
Select other address book records and note how the google map changes based on the zip
code.
Lab 04 – Create Context Sensitive Generic URL Tab – Example 2

Objective: Demonstrate a second example of the ability to create
a context sensitive URL to an external website within an E1
application.  30 minutes
Overview
 Add a context sensitive URL to an external website with an E1 application.
Assumptions
1. Using a browser, sign into the JDE EnterpriseOne HTML Client with the ORACLE
user and password.

5. Click the Add button within the pane to create a new tab within the pane for
related information.
6. Provide the template information into the available fields.

7. Still in the Related Information pane, scroll down and click on the check box for
Override Parameter.
8. The map form fields to URL parameters below the box should now be activated.

Lab 5: Manage/Inspect Generic URL Metadata Records

Objective: Demonstrate how to view URL metadata records for
administration purposes  30 minutes
Overview
 View Generic URL metadata records.
Assumptions

2. Start the Metadata for Generic URL application via fast path P952334 and clicking
the go arrow button.
3. On the Work with Generic URL form, click the button to locate all the existing
generic URL records.
4. Notice all three new Related Information frame have records associated with them.
From there the records can be reviewed and deleted out of the system. Select any
grid record to review the metadata behind the related information frame.
5. For the purposes of next exercises, return to the Work with Metadata for Generic
URL screen and remove all existing records by selecting the records and clicking the
Delete button.
The Remaining Lab’s can be followed in class but will be challenging

because of clashes with other user’s within the class. It is suggested that
you may review now but follow in your own environments at a later
time.
Lab 6: Create an Initial Publication List

Objective: Demonstrate how to create a list of users/roles that
URL links can be published to.  30 minutes
Overview
 Create a publication list.
Assumptions
and password.
2. Start the Publication List application via fast path P952336 and click the go arrow
button
3. On the Work with Publication Lists form, click the button to create a new record
and add to the publication list.
4. Enter the following information into the Publication Lists form and click the
button.
5. Back at the Work with Publication Lists form, click the button to make sure the
new list is created successfully. When verified, click the button.
Lab 7: Create a Request for Generic URL Publication

Objective: Demonstrate how to request for publication of a URL
link.  30 minutes
Overview
 Create a request for publication.
Assumptions
and password.
2. First make sure that additional users that will be able to see the Related Information
are added to the Publication List. Start the Publication List application via fast path
P952336 and clicking the go arrow button.
3. Find the E1List1 publication list and click the button.
4. Add a new user/record by clicking in the empty row and entering the new user
ORACLE into the Publication Target column and then click the button.
5. Start the Related Information application via fast path P952332 and click the go
arrow button.
6. Click the button to locate all existing records.
7. Highlight the existing record for the Application P01012 and click the button.
NOTE: Published Option “Allow user to publish to pre-defined Publication List.”

Objective: Demonstrate how to approve a request for publication
of a URL link.  30 minutes
Overview
 Approve a request for publication.
1. Using a browser, sign into the JDE EnterpriseOne HTML Client with a different user
and password.
2. Open Address Book via fast path P01012 and clicking the go arrow button.
5. Notice there is not Related Information frame available to the JDE user.
6. Give permission for ORACLE to view the Related Information frame, fast path
P952332 and clicking the go arrow button.
NOTE: Published Option “Allow user to publish to pre-defined Publication List.”

10. Start the Access Control of Generic URL application via fast path P952335 and
clicking the go arrow button.
12. Notice there should be TWO records for the previously created content. With the
record for the ORACLE user with PENDING participant permission, click the
button.
13. On the Access Control of Generic URL Revisions form, change the field for
Participant Permission from PENDING to VIEWER. Then click the button.
14. Sign out of EnterpriseOne to clear all application cache.
15. Sign back into EnterpriseOne as the different user again.
16. Launch the Address Book application by fastpath P01012 and clicking the go arrow
button.
19. Notice there is Related Information frame available to the this user, but there is no
way for the user to create a new Related Information frame – the Add button is
missing.
