1. Using a browser, sign into the JDE EnterpriseOne HTML Client with the JDE user
and password.

NOTE: This can either be OAS or Weblogic, but be sure that the E1 Services and
corresponding HTML server is functional.

available in Related Information framework.

Objective: Demonstrate the ability to create a Generic URL to an
external website within an E1 application.  30 minutes

Overview

In this exercise you will:

 Add a Generic URL to an external website with an E1 application.

Assumptions
 Lab 01 Completed

1. Using a browser, sign into the JDE EnterpriseOne HTML Client with the JDE user
and password.

NOTE: This can either be OAS or Weblogic, but be sure that the E1 Services and
corresponding HTML server is functional.

2. Start the Address Book application via fast path P01012 and clicking the go arrow
button.

3. On the Work with Addresses form, enter some search criteria and click the button.

5. Notice the new minimized pane at the bottom of the form. It has only been enabled
for the user defined in lab 1 on this form (W01012A). Click the Add button
within the pane to create a new tab within the pane for related information.

NOTE: If the pane does not show the “Welcome” information, expand the pane by
hovering over the Up/Down bar in the middle of the frame, click, hold
and drag to desired size.

6. Provide the template information into the available fields and click the Save
button within the pane.

Objective: Demonstrate the ability to create a context sensitive
URL to an external website within an E1 application.  30 minutes

Overview

In this exercise you will:

 Add a context sensitive URL to an external website with an E1 application.

Assumptions
 Lab 01-02 Completed

1. To make the above URL more useful, we can map the zip code from each address
book record as a parameter.

Using a browser, sign into the JDE EnterpriseOne HTML Client with the JDE user
and password.

NOTE: This can either be OAS or Weblogic, but be sure that the E1 Services and
corresponding HTML server is functional.

Sign in using your workshop user/signon.

2. Start the Address Book application via fast path P01012 and clicking the go arrow
button.

3. On the Work with Addresses form, enter some filter criteria and click the button.

5. The Address Book detail should shows up with Google Maps in the related
information frame. Click on the Inspect Link button in the upper left hand corner
of the pane to get back to the link properties.

6. On inspection, the previously available fields will be disabled. Click on the Edit
button in the upper left hand part of the pane to modify and link parameters.

7. In the Define URL Parameters section, click on the check box for Override
Parameter.

8. Once checked, the map form fields to URL parameters below the box will activate.
Locate the parameter for the zip code (q) and select from the drop configure down
box is mapped to.

9. Once the configuration type is changed, the Parameter Value column will be changed
from 80111 to “click any control on the form”, which means that the application is
waiting for a field to be selected on the application. Within the Address Book
Revision form, change the tab to 2-Mailing and select the Postal Code field.

10. The parameter for the q field will change to reflect the data dictionary item for the
field that has been selected (ADDZ in this case). Click the Save button when
finished.

The application should reload with the current address book’s postal code as it’s map
centralized. Click the OK button on the Address Book Revision application.

Lab 5: Manage/Inspect Generic URL Metadata Records


Objective: Demonstrate how to view URL metadata records for
administration purposes  30 minutes

 View Generic URL metadata records.

1. Using a browser, sign into the JDE EnterpriseOne HTML Client with the JDE user
and password.

the go arrow button.

3. On the Work with Generic URL form, click the button to locate all the existing
generic URL records.

4. Notice all three new Related Information frame have records associated with them.
From there the records can be reviewed and deleted out of the system. Select any
grid record to review the metadata behind the related information frame.

5. For the purposes of next exercises, return to the Work with Metadata for Generic
URL screen and remove all existing records by selecting the records and clicking the
Delete button.

Participant Permission from PENDING to VIEWER. Then click the button.

14. Sign out of EnterpriseOne to clear all application cache.

15. Sign back into EnterpriseOne as the different user again.

16. Launch the Address Book application by fastpath P01012 and clicking the go arrow
button.
