India is a land of festivals. Diwali is one of the most famous festival celebrated here which is
also known as Deepawali or the Festival of Lights. On this day, Lord Rama returned to
Ayodhya after 14 years of exile. He was welcomed by the people of Ayodhya with lighted
lamps and candles.
Today we will make Diwali Paper Lantern.
Materials required:
Square paper cut outs - 23 cut outs (Size – 9cm each)
Use different colours; reused papers like newspapers, gift wrapping sheets,
colourful leaflets or magazine papers can be used as well.
Step 4: Take the paper sheet measuring 24cm *12cm and keep it horizontally.
On both ends, mark at 1.5cm from the top and bottom of the sheet.
Draw horizontal lines through the marks.
Step 5: Mark pointers at 1cm till 23cm on both sides, i.e. top and bottom.
Draw vertical lines through the marks.
Step 6: Now, apply glue to each line and stick the semicircles, one by one.
Step 7: Join the edges together by gluing them. You can use a stapler too.
Step 8: Paste the thin strip to make a handle from inside and decorate the edges of the
lantern with the craft tape.
Step 10: You can further enhance your lantern by placing a small LED bulb inside it.
