Conditionals /Unreal Sentences/If sentences

1. Zero Conditional – If you eat much, you get fat.


2. First Conditional – If you eat much, you will get fat.
3. Second Conditional – If you ate much, you would get fat.
4. Third Conditional (Unreal Forever) If you had eaten much, you would have got fat.
5. Mixed Conditional – If you had eaten much, you would be fat now.

Conditional – (were)

If I were you - მე რომ შენს ადგილზე ვიყო + II Conditional

If I had been you - მე რომ შენს ადგილას ვყოფოლიყავი + III Conditional.

Examples: 1. If I were you, I would buy this house.

2. If I had been you, I would have bought this house.

I wish - ნეტა

I wish +would + infinitive / II, III Conditionals.

1. I wish it would rain.


2. I wish you would go, you are interrupting me.
3. I wish you would study.

II – I wish I knew Paul`s number, I would call her.

III – I wish I had known Paul`s number, I would have called her.

Present Simple – Past Simple - (II Conditional)

Past Simple – Past Perfect. – (III Conditional) + IF

Positive – Negative

Negative – Positive
Examples: 1. I don`t like school, so I don`t go there.

If I liked school I would go there

2. They came back early, as they spent all their money.

If they hadn`t spent all their money, they would not have come back early.

4. I don`t have a computer, so I can`t type.


If I had a computer, I would type.
5. The house burnt down, as the fire brigade didn`t come on time.
If the fire brigade had come on time, the house wouldn`t have burnt down.
