This online graphing calculator is a very beneficial resource for teachers and students

allowing easy graphing of any function. The Desmos Graphing Calculator allows for

many functions to be graphed in different colors, creating a great visual for students. The

calculator also enables the students to click on any point of a function, making it easy to

find intercepts, maximums/minimums, and intersection points. It is a great way for

teachers to allow their students to visualize functions to make connections and bring them

greater meaning. It is also available as a mobile app, making it very assessable to

GeoGebra is a versatile online graphing calculator that is beneficial in all types of math

classrooms. The online resource allows for 3D graphing, which is not seen on many

different platforms. This is greatly useful for students being able to visual graphs on a 3D

plane, which can be tricky for teachers to demonstrate on a whiteboard. GeoGebra is

great for a geometry classroom due to its drawing capabilities. Students are able to draw

different shapes to create diagrams that allows the students to be hands on while learning.
Differentiation in the Classroom

This is a great resource for teachers planning differentiated instruction. This book breaks

down the tools an educator needs to incorporate differentiation in their lesson plans. The

book focuses on the students and how and where you teach them. The main theme of the

book is to teach educators the procedures of teaching to ensure effective learning for all

individuals.

Tomlinson, C. A., Miracle, A. W., & Martin, L. (2001). How to differentiate instruction in

mixed-ability classrooms. Alexandria, VA: Association for Supervision and Curriculum

Development.

This is a great book for educators that lays out exactly what differentiated instruction is

and how a teacher can make it effective. It lists many great tools and strategies in order to

have the most impact on mixed-ability students. The book also describes many activities

that can be used to help students catch up on material and feel confident moving to new

topics.

Concept Based Learning

This book breaks down the importance of reading in all subjects even in math. This is a

great resource, especially for math educators, because it allows for a different perspective

on math education. It lays out the importance mathematical reading, not just articles and

stories but within problems. Mathematicians read to use information as pieces of a puzzle

and to decipher mathematical symbols. This shows the importance of reading

comprehension in math. This book gives tools and strategies to help students with their

reading in math.

NCTM. Leinwand, S. (2014). Principles to Actions: Ensuring Mathematical Success for All.

Virginia: NCTM.

This book gives a math educator 8 principles that should be part of every math lesson.

Each principle is supported by research and is laid out with great detail. These principles

are ones that will help the teacher have a greater impact on their students.

This book gives 80 research-based strategies that are for a common-core based

classroom. The book gives great tools that lessons, social interaction, and engagement in

a math lesson. This book can be very beneficial for math educators by giving them tools

that will make lessons better for the students.

Collaboration

This is a great resource for educators because it breaks down the skills needed to be an

effective collaborator. Being a successful collaborator with other teachers, in the end,

benefits the students the most. This book breaks down how to be a good communicator,

and the many different styles and techniques that can be used.

SPED/ELL

This book is a great resource to educate teachers on special education. It gives a teacher

the proper tools and resources to help educate students with special needs in the best way

possible.

Herrell, A. L., & Jordan, M. (2020). 50 strategies for teaching English language learners.

Hoboken: Pearson.

This book gives a teacher 50 strategies to help English Language Learners succeed in the

classroom. There are many activities that are given that can benefit all learners and help

them understand reading and other material.
