Global Inequality – naka focus sa distribution ng resources unequally sa members of the society
based on their position sa hierarchical ladder.
- Our society is divided through classes. We have 3. Upper class, middle class and lower class.
Modernization theory might explain why the Philippines is still a poor country. *Ano ba dapat
ang meron ang mga tao sabi ni modernization theory?
- Willingness to work hard and to abandon tradition favoring new ways of doing things
- Correct beliefs and practices adapt future orientation
- Modernization focus to change and improvement of itself
Philippines in general lacks beliefs, values and especially the power to act on the values. It’s a bit
hard for someone who has difficulties in values especially the leaders that’s why it’s
improvement is hard.
It can be that simple actually. We can always start within ourselves. We should hold on to our
right values and do something about those values to share to others, we should also know the
rights and wrong. Change must start from each of us
Dependency Theory – Like us, We are dependent to other nations. We cannot afford to cut
ties with all the powerful and rich nations na allied natin because babagsak tayo. Other rich
countries are abusing us and our natural resources
World System Theory – The countries are divided into core, semi peripheral and peripheral. It
is based to the economic wealth and the power of the countries.
Core Countries - are rich countries, they are exploiting peripheral countries for labor and
resources as well.
Peripheral – they are the poor who is dependent in core countries
Semi peripheral - are less developed but have both the characteristics of core and peripheral
