Subject: Report of Canva’s Workshop

Introductory Summary
The past Saturday, August 29 th a workshop of the platform Canva was held by the student
Thaís A. Vega via Google Meet at 6:00PM with the purpose of teaching others how to master
the Canva platform and make the most of the features it offers. In the two- hour meeting the
resource discussed how to custom templates, the types of letters and fonts, the features of the
platform and the organization of the posts.

Completed aspects
Custom of Templates
For every post in social media the recommended dimension is 1080 x1080px. The bigger the
dimension, the less pixeled it will look in social media. The presenter expressed two big don’ts:
a. Do not use the copy wright water mark in a flyer.
b. Only use the colors that represent your organization or business.

Types of letters and fonts

The information that goes in the template need to be short and simple and with a letter that is
easy to read and follow for the reader. Serif fonts with big-normal sizes are recommended.

Features of the platform

Canva offers the option of sharing your design templates with others via email, link for
WhatsApp or a PDF file and, also allows you to write a message when sending it. The templates
can be named individually and can be locked in the order that you want or duplicated.

Organization of the Posts

It is important to organize the time in which a publication will take place. It must be consistent
with the working hours of the organization or business. The information provided to the public
needs to be sequential. It has to be well written and organized in a way so that conveys a
coherent message to the public.

Incomplete aspects
The presenter mentioned the importance of posting the announcements in various platforms at
the same time, including the email for the official version, but did not explain how to post the
flyers on different social platforms or provide examples of a good post on the media. If it had
been done, it would have been of great help to better understand how an organized publication
should look.

Conclusion
This workshop was very useful for me because it provided tips and explained deeper the useful
features of Canva’s platform. This new knowledge will help me in the administration of the
Facebook page of the Catholic Youth Group that I lead and will help me to design better more
flyers, apply a better serif and fonts and give a good and efficient message to the reader.
