ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
We would like to thank Ma’am Samiya Hameed for her assistance and help, for providing us
information and guidance throughout our course and teaching us in the paramount and supreme
way. She showed commendable gesture of believing in our potential and guided us throughout
the completion of this imperative and vital course.
We owe our deepest gratitude to our teacher and the group members for their constant support
and encouragement which provided us the motivation to complete this report. It was a delight
working on such a project and on the topics which are so instructive, enlightening and insightful.

INTRODUCTION
We plan to organize a proper futsal league in Karachi. If we look at the recent structure of futsal
in Pakistan especially Karachi, many events’ organizers and teams manage these futsal
tournaments but according to the results of our customer profiling, we are offering much bigger
and better one. So, it will be 5v5 futsal league tournament which will last for 4 months. Duration
(4 months) can be a unique selling point looking at other futsal leagues, almost 95% of them last
for week or so.
Secondly, we plan to give professional footballers and students of Karachi a platform where they
can match their skills by sharing the same field.
Awareness of this platform will be created through major social media platforms and also word
of mouth i.e. two of our partners play football at district level as well as university level. So
connecting to the team and students will not be a problem.
So another gain of this tournament will be a VIDEO ANALYSIS of the league which will be
posted on Facebook every weekend. This analysis will also consist of highlights of the big games
for example Karachi United vs Nixor College.
4
IMPACT OF COVID-19 AND COPING UP WITH THE CHALLENGES
Looking at the recent circumstances, we are supposed to delay the event because of COVID-19.
This virus has affected the daily work cycle of the whole world so as our tournament, starting
from the promotions of the tournament or the confirmation of the teams, everything is delayed.
COMMUNICATION:-
Starting from the communication with the teams, if we look at the district level clubs, majority of
the players are labors or belong to the lower class as there is no proper structure to cater the
whole district. 70 % of them cannot afford phones and internet in this lockdown situation.
Obviously, it is very difficult to communicate with the clubs about the confirmation of the slot.
RESOURCES:-
After communication, we were supposed to order the resources like bibs and banners consume
some days to get ready. Because of lockdown, Sports shop and markets are closed like any other
businesses so connecting with them after this lockdown will be huge challenge.
COST STRUCTURE:-
After this lockdown is over, there will be number of people who will be booking their slots in
different venues. So when the demand of Venues will increase, there is a big chance that this will
affect our cost structure because they will charge us more of what they offered us 2 months back
because there is an increase in demand.
AVAILABILITY OF PLAYERS:-
When this virus is over, many boards and university will take their final exams as almost
everyone has delayed their exams due to COVID-19. So our customers from colleges and
universities will be affected and there is a big chance that they might not book their slots.

PROBLEM STATEMENT
Football has been an obscure sport that not many seem to care about. Often regarded as the ‘poor
man’s sport’, it is strange how despite football’s simplicity and widespread appeal among the
masses across the country, the game has failed to reach the same heights as hockey and cricket.
It is not strange to ask a common Pakistani about the national football team and receive a blank
stare and a shrug in return. They cannot be blamed given how football has been an obscure sport
that not many seem to care about. To Pakistanis, the global game was like a silent unknown, an
unwanted sport, waiting for recognition inside a country with other over-populated sports. But
without a shadow of a doubt, football should never be considered a ‘foreign’ sport in this
country. Its history in these parts is even older than the country itself.
The country has had a football team since 1950 and with a population of 200 million it is
astounding to say the least that it is ranked 204th in the world (down from 175th). Teams across
the globe can have different reasons for not being the best in the world. One of the major reasons
for this can be a lack of infrastructure. Yes, Pakistan has not got the infrastructure when
compared to Germany or an England side, but it certainly has the infrastructure of let us say
Sudan (ranked 42 positions above Pakistan) or Afghanistan (ranked 40 positions above
Pakistan). So, a lack of infrastructure can be a reason why Pakistan is not number one in the
world, but it is surely not the reason why Pakistan is 204th.
It is true that football is cheap to play and hence it is being played in almost all cities and villages
of Pakistan, but the problem is it does not pay to be a footballer. As a result, most people do not
see it as a profession that will put food on the table. One would ask why is the economic side of
the most popular sport in the world is so bad? The simple answer is Pakistan never really paid
much attention to football. I use the word Pakistan and not the authorities because no one in the
society paid much attention to the sport, be it the sports ministers, the large multinational
companies or the public.
The footballing talent of this country was majorly from the poorer sections of the society. Most
of the good players hailed from Balochistan and the slums of Karachi. These people have loved
their football for a long time, but they do not have the resources to buy the products the
multinationals sell. As a result, not even the local tournaments in these areas attracted any
sponsors. Not enough efforts were made to improve football by the government. One always
sees the prime minister and the president taking personal interest in appointing the chairman of
the cricket board. The head of the hockey federation was also a coveted seat and every now and
then we have seen a senior government figure take personal interest in the game (after all it is
still officially the national sport). We are yet to see any concern shown by anyone in government
7
about football or the Pakistan Football federation (PFF). The PFF is not even self-sufficient and
runs on the grants provided by FIFA.
All that said the future is not all gloomy and dark. In fact, football has been one of the fastest
growing sports in the country over the last decade. More and more schools have their own
football teams; there are more and more amateur tournaments in the major cities of Pakistan but
more importantly the PFF started its own league the Pakistan Premier football league.
Tragically Pakistan is a country obsessed with following trends rather than setting them. From a
very early age when a kid is growing up, he is always compared academically to either his
brother or his cousin; everything is about being better than the other person rather than being
different.
There is a general lack of information amongst the people who matter, for example European
football is followed religiously in Pakistan and the number of fans who associate themselves
with the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Barcelona, AC Milan etc.
is astounding.
We ask you if we can show fanaticism for teams halfway across the planet, from cities we have
never even visited then why would we not support a local team from Lahore, Karachi, Quetta,
Peshawar etc.
With inflow of money and marketing heads showing a little more intelligence of what is growing
on in this country, we could have a proper league structure starting from the grass root levels.

surrounding suburbs for the competitive and social needs of our identity.

will be a league format of Futsal, something that never happened before.
The structure specially designed will consist of teams ranging from clubs, universities and

CUSTOMER SEGMENTS BY CUSTOMER PROFILING
We aim to give professional footballers and students of Karachi a platform where they can
compete against each other on the same field. Not only will this be a learning experience for
everyone, this will be the first time in Pakistan that schools and Universities will be competing
against District Teams in a futsal league. Our focus will be on Clubs, Universities and Colleges
as they are the main customers of our business.

CHANNELS
Since 97% of the Pakistan’s population use Facebook and Instagram as a norm that is why it will
be convenient to influence the masses. These are the two right mediums to spread awareness
about the business idea and engage the target audience in a correct way. These mediums would
best serve the core purpose of the business as per our research.
These are the main channels selected for the cause. The major processes will be covered on
Facebook as we figured out most of our target customers actively use this medium for the
purpose of staying connected with people, different businesses and other trending activities.
Moreover, it is easier to get customer feedback, reviews, data and insights through Facebook and
it makes sharing of content extremely effective. Facebook and Instagram’s Direct Inbox and
Messaging option will be utilized for addressing all sorts of customers’ queries as it is the
quickest way. Facebook can be used for live session and for sharing both video and graphic
content as we can reach out to hundreds of viewers easily.
For communication purposes, we have the perfect solution of personalized messages (for
leagues) whereas secondary mediums for promotion and event awareness selected are Instagram
and Snapchat too. Awareness through pictorial images, banners and posters throughout different
areas would be perfect for pre event campaigns. Snapchat being the most used application
because of the trend would be used for creating a buzz at the time of events. Highlights through
mini snippets of the events would be updated hand in hand during the event to keep all sides of
updates covered.

REVENUE STREAMS
The Futsal League 1.0 plans to organize a proper futsal league tournament. In Pakistan especially
Karachi, many events’ organizers and teams manage these futsal tournaments but as ours is
going to be the first one to initiate league based tournaments in Pakistan we aim to take the
following steps regarding it.
Usually futsal tournaments charge around Rs 3500-4000 with winning Rs 30000-40000 and this
is the value the teams also prefer to pay. For bigger tournaments the entry fixes at Rs 4000 with
higher than usual amount of winning (eg: Rs 100,000). But this also depends on additional
monetary sponsorships by brands.
According to the above mentioned cost structure, we planned to fix our entry fee on Rs. 10,000
however, through our customer research we managed to cater to our customers queries. Most of
them raised an issue regarding high entry fee and affordability issues. They requested to
compensate as most of them are students and part time workers. The tentative offer for entry fee
is now Rs. 8000 per team, through which we will be fulfilling the expenses mentioned above.
Being it a four month league Rs 8000 was considered feasible by most of the customers.
