MATHEMATICS FOR ORGANIZATION

Mathematics helps to organized patterns and regularities in the world by the means
of teaching people on how to be properly organized when it comes on doing a lot of
things in this way a lot of people learned how to be well organized and responsible
enough on doing and making their decisions just like solving a problem in mathematics.
A lot of events happen Ø. In the blink of an eyes, several children have already been
burn, liters of water have been consumed; or a thousand of tweets have been posted.
Organizing is a strategy to detect and understand patterns of relevant information.
Students identify information they have and must gather to solve a problem.
In Addition, creating an organized list, table, chart, or other graphic organizer is an
important problem-solving strategy. Organizing information will help your students to
see patterns and learn mathematical concepts more easily.

Mathematics for Predictions

How does math help us make predictions?

When it comes to the subject of how mathematics is used as the basis for
making predictions a common reaction among people is to shake their heads. Isn't
predicting something that fortune tellers and magicians do they ask? Well, yes, but
what stereotypical fortune tellers really do is make guesses that are not based on
sound mathematical principles. They simply pull statements out of the air and hope
they come to pass. Usually their predictions falter because they are not based on a
statistical analysis of data. Predictions without a basis in math is little more than
guessing and guessing is not reliable. This is why people who predict the weather,
the outcomes of political elections, the decline and fall of a stock are often closer to
accuracy than not.

When we say predictions we are not speaking about guessing because

guessing is a haphazard way of trying to search for an answer. If you took a math
test and did not try to actual figure out the problems and you tried and guess the
answer you may be right or you may be wrong. The odds are, however,
overwhelming that you would be wrong the vast majority of the time. So, it becomes
important to actually figure out the proper answer to a question in the same way you
need to use math as a basis of making proper predictions. Mathematical analysis is
the component that makes predictions more reliable.

How do predictions work in a practical manner? They work in the sense that
predictions are based upon a careful analysis of patterns which are essentially
recurring events. Patterns can be found in languages, sciences and even the arts.
The key to being recognize patterns can provide the basis for us to later make
predictions based on our observation of the repetition of patterns and then making a
subsequent prediction based on the data. Does this sound complicated? Well, it really
isn't! Patterns exist in a number of activities including leisure pursuits such as fishing.

Predictions with math would be best referred to as forecasting which is making

an educated guess based on recurring patterns of activity. Ok, let's look at this a little
closer. Let's say that you are going fishing and you are using a casting lure. You
make 100 casts and reel the lure in 100 times. At the end of the 100 casts you catch
4 fish. So, it may be safe to assume that under similar conditions it is possible to
repeat this 4 out of 100 (or the odds being 1 out of 25) when you go fishing. Of
course, this may not be able to be repeated all the time but it can provide a clear
idea of a credible prediction that is based on some form of empirical evidence.

Of course, there are other areas where predictions come in handy that are of a
more serious nature. For example, in the stock market operates brokers will collect
data about a particular stock or industry. Then, they will look at the common external
factors that can manipulate how the stocks go up or down. (The stock market is, of
course, based on dollars and cents which are whole numbers and decimal points)
Again, the predictions are based on collected data and patterns.

Does that mean that math can provide predictions that possess 100%
accuracy? No, it would be next to impossible to make a 100% accurate prediction.
But, a prediction based on solid data can allow you to make an assumption that is as
close to the likelihood of accuracy than not and this is clearly very valuable.

Predictive modeling is a technique that uses mathematical and computational

methods to predict an event or outcome. A mathematical approach uses an equation-
based model that describes the phenomenon under consideration. The model is used
to forecast an outcome at some future state or time based upon changes to the
model inputs. The model parameters help explain how model inputs influence the
outcome. Examples include time-series regression models for predicting airline traffic
volume or predicting fuel efficiency based on a linear regression model of engine
speed versus load.

The computational predictive modeling approach differs from the mathematical

approach because it relies on models that are not easy to explain in equation form
and often require simulation techniques to create a prediction. This approach is often
called ―black box‖ predictive modeling because the model structure does not provide
insight into the factors that map model input to outcome. Examples include using
neural networks to predict which winery a glass of wine originated from or bagged
decision trees for predicting the credit rating of a borrower.

Mathematics for Control

Mathematics helps us control things like it helps us not only to predict or

forecast what will happen in the future, it also helps us control situations. Because of
Mathematics, we can easily control difficult situations with the proper usage of
Mathematics. Like for example, in budgeting money in our daily lives, we can control
the flow of our money and use it in a proper way. Mathematics helps us a lot in
controlling things and it is really an essential matter. Another example is that we can
predict some phenomenon through the use of mathematics. Like earthquakes and
typhoons, we can forecast or predict them of course because of the use Mathematics.

Mathematics is Indispensable

Why Mathematics is Indispensable and Essential?

Mathematics is really important in our daily lives; it helps a lot in order for us
to live our life easier and better. Mathematics makes our life orderly and prevents
chaos. Certain qualities that are nurtured by mathematics are power of reasoning,
creativity, abstract or spatial thinking, critical thinking, problem-solving ability and
even effective communication skills.

Mathematics is the cradle of all creations, without which the world cannot
move an inch. Be it a cook or a farmer, a carpenter or a mechanic, a shopkeeper or a
doctor, an engineer or a scientist, a musician or a magician, everyone needs
mathematics in their day-to-day life.

Mathematics develops the ability to think because to find the solutions, you
have to think of a whole coherent process. It could be said that mathematics is
fundamental in the education of children, since math teaches them to think.

Mathematics quickens our minds and helps us, in general, to deepen and think
when we are faced with complex problems. Our life is composed largely of situations
of choice, approach, reasoning and facing problems to which solutions have to be
found. In that sense, mathematics helps you to open your mind and to understand
that there is only one way to solve things. It is to investigate and finally conclude.

Mathematics has been necessary to the world because it plays a huge role in reality.
Way before the world was modernized, Math has been used by the ancient people in
many different ways. Its indispensability is not limited to one’s individuality alone, but
also to a wide variety of factors, especially to its contributions to the world. As Albert I
stated, “How is it possible that Mathematics, a product of human thought that is
independent of experience, fit so excellently the object of reality?” Clearly, it shows that
whatever we do, Mathematics will always be involved. Given that statement, here are a
few examples to prove that Mathematics is truly indispensable and relevant to the
world:

The distance travelled by an object given its initial velocity and acceleration over
period of time is given by the equation d=Vot+1/2at2

EXAMPLES

Problem 1. Find the distance travelled by a car before it speeds off if it starts from rest
and accelerates down the street at 2.25 m/s2 for 26.9 s.

d= Vot+1/2at 2
Vo= 0
a= 2.25m/s2
t= 26.9s

d= 0(26.9)+1/2(1.7 m/s 2 )
d=

Problem 2. Find the distance travelled by the fastest aircraft before it takes off if it
starts from rest and accelerates down the runway at 4.6 m/s 2 for 30.2 s.

Problem 3. Find the distance travelled by a bike if its initial velocity is 0.5 m/s and it
accelerates down the street at 1.7 m/s2 for 15 s.

Problem 4. A golf ball that is initially traveling at 25 m/s hits a sand trap and slows
down with an acceleration of -20 m/s2. Find its displacement after 2 s.

Problem 5. A speedboat slows down at a rate of 5.0 m/s 2 and comes to a stop. If the
process took 15 s, what is the displacement of the boat?
