JOB DESCRIPTION: PROJECT LEADER – PAYLOGIC SAC

Reports to: Commercial Manager Directly supervises: Project Assistant


Indirectly supervises: Programmers, Help Desk

The Position Objective: To deliver value to the client assessing their needs, coordinating the
development of the software program required an it’s installation and following up to ensure
the client’s total satisfaction with the service
Functions:
 Accompany the Commercial Manager on visits to new clients listening to their needs
and concerns, problematic situations they may be facing.
 Commit with the clients to a due-dates for proposals.
 Coordinate with the Operations Manager the assignment of the necessary programmers
for the project and a Specialist Consultant if needed
 Meet with the Project Team, discuss the requirements, establish a Gantt chart for
installation.
 Elaborate proposals.
 If a proposal is accepted and down payment made, proceed to development and
installation.
 If a proposal is not accepted, consult with the Commercial Manager and re-elaborate it.
 Depending on the complexity of the requirement, supervise directly the installation or
delegate supervision to the Project Assistant.
 Coordinate Post Sales Survey and client feedback with the Post Sales Area.
 If there are problems, look for and execute prompt solutions
 Attend bi-weekly Project Leaders’ meetings to discuss issues related to the projects and
present suggestions for improvement of Project design and implementation.
 Hold weekly meeting with Programmers and Specialist Consultant to review projects in-
course and prospective projects, taking special notice of problems ad difficulties
discussed to present and Project Leader’s meetings.
 Review and sign work time reports of Programmers
 Evaluate programmers on a regular basis in order to:
 Identify and groom Programmers who may become Project Managers
 Detect and correct problems
 Be on the lookout for training and learning needs of Programmers and Specialists and
coordinate the training with Management.
Evaluation Criteria: Value and Profit Margin in US$ of Projects successfully completed. Average
completion time of Projects. (Projects should take from 1 to 3 days to complete, depending on
complexity) Number of complaints and claims from clients. Number of referrals to new clients.
All within a fixed period of time (year).
IMPORTANTE NOTE: a Project Manager is required to handle a minimum of 12 projects per
month--- of which 8 should be new clients and the others up-dates (new accounting or tributary
laws) of up-grades (improved functionality) for existing clients.
Requirements:
Undergraduate degree in Systems Engineering or Information Technology
Project Management Certification
2 years of experience in IT Projects of which 1 may be as a Programmer and at least 1 in charge
of small or medium sized projects
Solid knowledge of Payroll structure and Taxes, basic knowledge of Accounting (General Ledger)
