Song Teaching Lesson Reflection

I believe my teaching video went very well. After watching the example videos, I tried

hard to engage my student as if they were an actual third grader. So, I tried to stay enthusiastic

and very clear with my instructions, and they were able to sing the song with me by the end. In

terms of improvement, I definitely noticed that my confidence sinks when I have to teach people

around the same age as me. So, I could try to improve my confidence in some way so that I do

not feel uncomfortable talking to people of the same age as me. If I were to teach the same lesson

again, I would probably try to make it more fun in some way. If my audience of students were

third graders, I would not want the song to feel like a chore. After rewatching my lesson, I

noticed that I could have added more encouragement between phrases to keep the student

positive. From this lesson, I learned how difficult it is to try to teach someone around the same

age as you. It was a strange experience teaching one on one with someone as well. I also realized

how uncomfortable I feel singing in front of people. But, all in all, I felt I taught the song to the

best of my ability at the time.
