THE HONORABLE MEMBERS OF THE

UNION OF LOCAL AUTHORITIES OF THE PHILIPPINES

Dear Colleagues in Local Government Service:

Greetings!

We are pleased to inform you that the Part II of the ULAP #FORWARD Strategy Dialogue Series
on “Rekindling Local Economic Growth”, which is the Dialogue with the Department of Trade and
Industry (DTI) on “Revving up the Local Economic Engines and Small Entrepreneurs”, will be held
on 09 OCTOBER 2020 (FRIDAY), 01:00PM TO 4:00PM, via ZOOM platform.

As previously highlighted, the dialogue series is aimed to serve as venue for discussion and
exchange of ideas between the LGUs and the country’s economic managers on how we can
rebuild the local economy in the short and long-term and what interventions from the national
level have been made in terms of stimulus measures. This is another initiative of ULAP, in
partnership with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), to support LGUs
in our efforts to reinvigorate the local economy while sustaining the fight against COVID-19.

The second part of the series will primarily focus on how to sustain economic activities and
undertake steps to speed up local economic recovery, which will tentatively include topics on
support for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), business continuity and health
protocols, shoring up consumer and business confidence, the use of e-commerce, among others.

In this regard, we are pleased to invite my fellow local chief executives and local government
officials, together with your local administrators, local planning and development coordinators,
local economic and investment promotions officers, local agriculturists, local cooperative
development officers, local business permit and licensing heads and local treasurers, as well as
the Technology and Livelihood Development Center (TLDC), Negosyo Center and One Town, One
Product (OTOP) program heads/coordinators/focal persons and other concerned LGU office
heads and personnel, members of the local development council, local investments and
incentives board, local price coordinating council, local MSME development council and
representatives of the private sector, civil society and other local stakeholders who must be part
