Music Philosophy Reflection

After completing this assignment, I recognize that I will have to adapt my philosophy of

music education as I progress as a teacher and face new challenges. When crafting my

philosophy, I considered the most important factors for student success. Aligned with InTasc

Standard #9, my philosophy revolves around understanding and meeting the needs of students,

along with providing a high-quality education and making learning culturally relevant for all

students. After defining my philosophy on music education, I have developed a greater

recognition of teacher impact because every decision a teacher makes will affect a student’s

achievement and experience. As a teacher, I know I will have to be responsive to students’ needs

at all times.
