a) Four analysts have each performed a set of 5 titrations for which the correct titre is
known to be 25.00 cm3. The results are tabulated below.

c) A soil sample known to contain 25.15 mg kg-1 of polyaromatics hydrocarbons (PAH)


was tested using Fluorimetry, an alternative method to determine PAH. The results for
four analyses were found to give mean = 22.97 mg kg -1. Do the data indicate there is
bias in the method at 99% confidence level if s = 1.25 mg kg-1.
