If I could, I would choose to be
Amelia Earhart of the USA. She is
most famous for being the first
woman to fly solo across the Atlantic
Ocean, but that is not the reason I
would choose her. I admire her
because she had a lot of courage and
was not afraid to follow her dreams.
I also think she was brave and
adventurous. She learnt to fly at a
time when it was a very dangerous
activity and she worked many
different jobs at the same time in
order to earn the money needed for
her flying lessons. I admire her
determination to make her dreams
come true.
Although she was a good pilot,
unfortunately, she was not the best
aviator and did not keep up with
technology as new equipment was
developed to help direct and navigate
planes. It is easy to say that I would
do things differently but I do believe I
would have learnt how to use the
technology that was available. If she
had done that, I think she would not
have disappeared mysteriously on her
last flight.
