About myself and my research work

Let me introduce myself and say a few words about my research work. My name is Ivanov
Ivan. Last year by the decision of the Scientific Council I took post-graduate courses to increase my
knowledge in economics. I passed three entrance examinations – in Philosophy, English and the special
subject. So now I am a first year post-graduate student of the South Ural State University, the Institute
of Economics. I’m attached to the Statistics Department.
My scientific advisor is Professor Petrov. He is head of the department at South Ural State
University, the Institute of Economics. I always consult him when I encounter difficulties in my
research. We often discuss the collected data.
To date I’ve made a profound review of the literature on the subject “Quality control of audit
services”. It enabled me to collect the valuable data for further research and analysis, to get
acquainted with state-of-the-art research and to summarize the existing state of knowledge on the
subject area.
The field of Economics has been rapidly developing in the last two decades. The obtained
results have already found wide application in various spheres of national economy. I’m interested in
that part of auditing which includes its internal quality control as it’s necessary for economists to
obtain competence in maintaining quality control of audit services.
As the empirical and theoretical studies show, there is a great gap in our knowledge about up-
to-date methods of audit quality control. So we have to examine the question in detail and work out
the method of quality control audit services. In order to do this, we should thoroughly study the
theory on the problem to gain more specific information and conduct a laboratory experiment using
special techniques of economics.
The obtained and analyzed data will provide us support for achieving success in our research
work. By the way, the problem under analysis deserves further investigation.
In conclusion it may be said that I’m planning to finish writing the dissertation by the end of
2019 and prove it in the Scientific Council of the St.Petersburg University.
I hope to get a Ph. D. in Economics and I’m sure the knowledge of English will help me in my
research.
