Announcement on Queries relating to online End Semester Exam of Academic

Session- Jan. to Apr., 2019-20
The following are the response decided by Academic Planning Committee (APC) and
approved by the administration based on various queries of individual student and student
representatives:
1. Extension for project submission: Project submission deadline has been extended up to 8th
December 2020. There shall be no further extension granted after 8 th December 2020. If any
student submits his/her project after the deadline, 0.5 mark per day will be deducted as per
existing rules.
2. Uploading of syllabus: We have already uploaded the syllabus for the online end term
examinations on the university website. You can visit the link given below:

3. Word limit of an answer: For a 15-mark question, a student can write an answer
approximately in the range of 1200-1500 words.
4. Supply of sample questions: University will not provide any sample questions.
5. Faculty to resend the study materials: The faculty will upload the lectures done earlier in
Google Class room by 14th of November. If there are issues you can mail the concerned
teacher.
6. Marking parameters: The same standard as practiced. Model answers will be uploaded on
the website after examinations for reference. There will be no revaluation for passed
candidates but can appeal to a Grievances Committee to be announced after the results.
Candidates who could not clear the exams are eligible for external revaluation as is the
practice by paying the requisite revaluation fee.
7. Clarification of phrase “Repeat exam”: The Regular Repeat Exams will be scheduled
for those having back logs in any paper in their earlier exams other than the End Semester of
January -April 2020 in January 2021 as online physical or depending on the decision of
reopening the University. If it is online it will be 30 marks for 90 minutes +Uploading
time of 90 minutes /open book exam or will be the regular pattern of physical -60 marks
in 3 hours without materials.
8. However, those who could not participate in this exam of November 2020 -for the Jan-
Apr Semester of 2020- for any reason, can also write the Repeat exam as mentioned
above. Such an attempt will be treated as fresh attempt and not as a failed candidate.
The exam mode can be online 30 marks for 90 minutes +Uploading time of 90
minutes /open book exam as regular end term if it is physical- 60 marks in 3 hours
without materials. There will be no repeat examination fee charged.

9. Midterm and End term of Current Semester: The pattern and schedule will be announced
after due deliberation by the APC through the Registrar.
All queries on this subject to be marked only to apc@hnlu.ac.in. Do not mark copies to any
other mail IDs.
