Coaching Philosophy

My goal as a coach it to have an enjoyable time during games and practices as well as

learn content on how the sport is played, best techniques and tactics to carry out plays, and

teamwork aspects of the given sport. I want to not only improve my athlete’s skill level but also

improve their teamwork skills, leadership skills, and other affective aspects. Having athletes who

are looking to get out of the house and enjoy their time are the athletes I want on my team.

As an athlete who worked really hard and was not always highest skilled, I want to create

an emotionally and physically safe environment for all my athletes to feel a sense of comfort and

trust in their teammates and coaches. I want my athletes to understand on the first day that all

their teammates are to be treated as equals and you as teammates have a responsibility to each

other. Sports can teach many different skills that are not relevant in other hobbies, these skills of

communicating on a field and understanding how to work with teammates having good

sportsmanship is key to a successful team with successful athletes on and off the field.

I understand that my athletes will have good and bad days, I as their coach, want to be

able to get a better understanding of the roots of what makes their bad days bad and their good

days good. By dedicating your time and thoughts your athletes will be able to be more open

which allows you as a coach to break down their understanding to help them reach success.
