This is for the removal & fitting of the lower trim cover of a E60 sport steering wheel.

First the steering wheel

If you look at the bottom of the steering wheel (back side) you will see a small hole,
You will need something that fits that small hole but it has to be blunt or a straight cut tool to push in
there, when you push the tool inside it will stop now push a lttile harder & you will see the the airbag
release.
Once the airbag is released pull it forward & move it to one side but
DO NOT UNPLUG THE WIRES CONNECTED TO THE AIRBAG

You will now see the inside of the steering wheel, there is 2 torque screws. 1 is top left & the other is top
right.

Unscrew these
Now if you pull the bottom the lower trim towards you it will come out.
Now you have the trim out, if you look at the back of this you will see that there is another 4 torque
screws, 2 on the left & 2 on the right button backs.
Unscrew these.
Now the lower cover is apart from the upper part you are now done the removal stage, all you have to do
is this procedure in reverse until you get back to puting these 2 torques screws back in.

Once these are done up all you have to do is push the airbag back in & you will hear it clip in & you are
now done.
