Stage Activity Description Time


Introduction or Get students in small groups by handing out some slogan pieces of paper. Students will find their 5 min
warm up partner and sit together. Ask students to guess the brand the slogan represents and if they use the
product.

Extension Hand out students a worksheet with some exercises to do. the worksheet tells students what to do. 20 min
activity Read the instructions with your students and give them about 10 minutes to go over them.

Show students the video (commercials) have them look back to their questions and see if their
guesses were right or wrong.

As a class have students report their answers and share ideas together. You may want to lead this
discussion.
Extension Is there such thing as mass media manipulation? Provide examples. This questions will open up the 20 min
activity next part of the class where students will do some research as far as influences of mass media on
people.

Students will research on this topic and explain it. They must make a mind map to express their ideas.
For the mindmap they can use free mind map applications in their cellphones.
Wrap-up or I will give each student some time to participate with their ideas from the research. They will present 20 min
closure activity. their mindmap and also their conclusions. The conclusion must be a written paragraph that will write on
the board to agree or disagree later on. It must be 3 to 4 line long and it should be made as a
comment.
