and how to handle it
1. Unlocking Bootloader -:

USE USB 2.0 PORT ON

YOUR PC OR LAPTOP OR
USB HUB OR GTFO!!!
BECAUSE FASTBOOT
WON'T WORK!!!

● First download in depth test apk remember that there are two different in-depth test apk , the
old one is for color os and new one is for using on realme ui. You can find both in realme 3 pro
global notes.

● Install and open it.

● Click on "start applying"
● Read the disclaimer and agree to it.

● Click on submit application.

● Close the app.
● Wait for about an hour or maybe longer.
● Now open the app.

● It will show review successful.

● Click on "start in depth test"
● It will reboot to fastboot.
● Now make sure you have adb and fastboot drivers installed on a PC/laptop.
● Now open CMD and type the following
● fastboot flashing unlock

● If you are on Windows 10 then you will have powershell

● In powershell u need to just type ./ Before the same cmd command like this

./fastboot flashing unlock

● Now bootloader is unlocked.
2. Flashing TWRP -:
● Boot into fastboot by holding vol down and power buttons together for
few seconds when device is switched off.
● Make sure TWRP and vbmeta images are in the same folder from where you are
running fastboot.
● Rename the TWRP image to recovery.img

● Now type the following

● fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

● Now type the following

● fastboot flash vbmeta vbmeta.img

● Now you have TWRP installed.

● You can get both twrp and vbmeta files in realme 3 pro grp notes

3. Flashing magisk/Rooting -:
FOR REAME UI JUST FLASH LATEST MAGISK 20.4 FROM CUSTOM RECOVERY TO GET ROOT.

Now below is the procedure to root color os

● Reboot to recovery by selecting recovery in fastboot.

● Now if it asks for a password then enter your lock screen password.
● Now install magisk zip.

● Now reboot to system.

● Now install magisk manager apk if not already installed by magisk.
● Now you'll see that magisk is in core only mode and no modules work.
● So disable core only mode in magisk settings and reboot to TWRP.
● Now flash the magisk fix zip.( Get link at the last page of this guide)

● Reboot to system.
● You have full magisk installed on COS.
4. Guide for custom
recoveries

There are many custom recoveries available for realme 3 pro which you can find in
realme 3 pro updates channel

How to move from one custom recovery to other:

Usually custom recoveries are either in zip format or in img format

1. If in img format : just boot to your custom recovery click on install (if on twrp)

Click on image button available on bottom right select the custom recovery and
click on recovery option when showed then swip to flash.

Now reboot to recovery to boot into your new switched recovery

2. If in zip format : just boot to custom recovery and flash the zip and the custom
recovery will be installed

Common errors while flashing :

1. If zip flails to flash then make sure that the zip you are flashing is not corrupt or
not .

2. Make sure that the folder name in which your zip is located doesn’t have any
spaces in it , so it’s just best to move the zip to insternal storage directly and then
flash it .

3. Some zips only flash on the recommended recoveries so if the zip doesn’t flash
on your custom recovery then use the recommended one mentioned in the rom
post.
5. Guide for gsi

What is a gsi ? GSI- generic system image is just basically what the name says
A rom mainly has the following parts
System
Vendor
Boot
Out of these we just remove the existing system and replace it with the one we want.

There are GSI available which are based on custom ROMs such as descendant, havoc, evox and
oem ROMs like one plus , Asus, flyme , miui etc

Flashing a custom rom based doesn’t make sense if there is already a rom available for your
device of that GSI but you can try other custom rom based GSI which are not available for your
device to check out it’s features etc.

GSI are only supported on treble supported devices which realme 3 pro has.

There are usually two type of gsis version available to download on the net
1. A only
2. AB only

I won’t go in depth about explaining these but remember this that A only gsi won’t boot on
realme 3 pro but AB only type gsi will boot .

It’s not necessary that every AB only type gsi will boot on our phone as booting a gsi depends on
many factors and the base you use .

You can install gsi on realme UI based which will have realme UI vendor and boot etc or you can
install gsi on custom rom like Los 17.1 as base which will have custom vendor etc.

Head over to realme 3 pro GSI grp to know more about the gsi.
● 6. Guide for custom
ROMs

● Some custom ROMs are based on color os and some are based on realme UI So make sure to
follow steps properly written in the rom post and if you face errors while flashing then just use
the recommended recovery mentioned in the rom post which you are trying to flash.

● Boot into custom recovery.

● TAKE A BACKUP OF EVERYTHING.
● Now wipe system, dalvik, cache, data.
● Some ROMs have vendor included in them and some don’t so it’s better not to wipe vendor as
vendor. So if a rom has vendor included you can wipe vendor before flashing and if it doesn’t
then don’t wipe vendor
● Now flash ROM zip and gapps(if required) together one after the other.

● Now FORMAT DATA. For twrp format data option is located in wipe option in bottom right
corner. (you'll lose all of your data on internal storage.)

● If format data give you any error then just reboot to recovery and try formatting data again.
● Now reboot to system.
● Now if you need root then reboot to TWRP and then flash magisk.

● Magisk fix zip is not needed on custom ROMs.

● You have successfully installed custom ROM on your device.
● 7. Rooted realme UI user
How to update to latest REALME UI if you are on REALME UI and rooted

1. Do not update using the ota that you receive as stock recovery is needed to update via ota and you
will have custom recovery so don’t do it

2. You need to manually update it by downloading the latest custom ozip

3. To download latest custom ozip just Type the following in REALME 3 pro global chat
/getlatestota RMX1851EX

4. This will give you link of latest custom ozip for REALME 3 pro

5. After downloading just flash the ozip from a custom recovery that supports ozip flashing like
Twrp 3.3.1-17 etc and after flashing ozip just reboot (note that your custom recovery will be replaced
with stock recovery)

6. After rebooting if the phones rebooted back to custom recovery then you will need to format data
so take back up of your data

7. To update without losing custom recovery just flash vbmeta and then flash twrp or ofox after
flashing ozip and reboot .
8. Boot image destroyed
and how to handle it

DID U GET THE ABOVE SCREEN WHILE U WERE PERFECTLY FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS ?
Worry not!!!!!

First did u lock ur bootloader if yes see guide 1 below. If ur bootloader is still unlocked see
guide 2

Guide 1: go to your nearest service centre

Guide 2: You need to flash vbmeta file which u can find in realme 3 pro global notes
After downloading the file put the file in adb folder and launch powershell or cmd
Now press and hold all three buttons on ur device to reach fastboot mode.

Connect ur device to PC via USB and make sure you are using USB 2.0 port or USB hub.

Now type
./fastboot flash vbmeta vbmeta.img

👆 For powershell
Fastboot flash vbmeta vbmeta.img

For cmd.

Done!! Now you can reboot or enter recovery.

No internal storage format guide:

1. Note that this method only works for some people and for some it doesn’t so
make sure you backup your data if it doesn’t work
2. Wipe data, cache, dalvik cache and system as instructed in the rom the u wish
to install.
3. Now most important part, In twrp go in advance then open file manager then
go to /data directory.
4. In this directory u will find 1 file and some folders with one folder named
“media”.
5. Except this media folder delete the file and all other folders ( Do not delete the
media folder at any cost as it contains all your internal storage).
6. After deleting reboot to recovery and now u can flash the rom/gsi u want and
follow the next steps given for that rom/gsi and then reboot.
7. Done.
