I am a big Smash Up fan and really can't get enough of new factions. And AEG does a great job by constantly providing
new material for crazy combos (just saying SHARKNADO ). But nothing is more fun than creating and playing your
own custom factions. This is proven by almost 300 faction-sets, posted by the BGG users. The variety is enormous, from
small raw ideas of "Hey, let's do a faction with this topic" to breathtaking ready-to-print cards of complete themed custom
expansions with amazing artwork and sometime completely new concepts/mechanics.

To get a little structure in all this creativity, I've spent some hours of clicking through the Variant-Forum and gathered
(hopefully) all the custom factions in this list. Of course I can't gurantee for completeness (and even if I could now, it
surely wouldn't stay complete for long ^^). Nor can I comment on the quality or playability of the factions. But I'm sure you
can make up your own mind. And maybe this list helps one or another to nd the right faction for a test-play. Or it gives
you the input for your own faction idea ;-)

1. The faction name (directly linked to its original thread)

2. The Status of the Faction

a) Idea: Mostly just a raw idea of a general mechanic.
b) Concept: Already a complete list of 20 cards and their names/e ects, but without artwork yet
c) PnP: Complete faction, ready to print out the cards and start playing
d) incomplete: Something might missing to print and play that faction
e) link expired: The link to the factions print-sheet is expired. But often you still nd the complete concept of that
faction in the thread.
 3. As addition to the status, you can see if the faction has its 2 bases ("with bases") or not ("without bases"). In some
cases, there is only the text for the base cards without the artwork ("only base-text").

4. The date when the post went online.

5. The (user)name of the poster/creator of the faction.

Since this list looks terrible confusing here, I've also put the excel sheet online, so you can sort the list like you wish.

At the end of this very long post, you can nd a Change-Log with all changes between the single edits.
OK, so much for Version 1.3 of this list. We'll see how this thing develops in the future. I hope you enjoy.

Awesome work! You have a few duplicates in X-Men Villains.

Also, the duplicate Merfolk and Hacker factions could be merged as I collaborated with Deso and Alan on both of those
(they did the mechanics, I did design).

I have created several factions that are posted in the les section. They are WWII bombers, WWII partisans, Fire ghters,
EMS, Law Enforcement, Terrorists, Gladiators, and Chickens. All factions are PnP ready.

Actually I proposed some changes to Alan Sharvo (anomia1)'s goblins, but ended up making a whole di erent faction with
some gameplay similarities (mostly on a thematic level).

Incidentally his Goblin faction is complete and print ready (and his Powerpoint layout was quite helpful for me to create a
few card usable on tabletop). I probably should change my own goblin faction's name to something like "Bomber
Goblins" or "Goblin Techies" given I'll use Blizzard's/Hearthstone artwork.

If I learn how to make a decent textbox - I can probably nish designing 5 factions
1-archers = lot5r
2-vikings = several sources (almost the same images as a new deck on reddit)
3-swarm = serveral cardgames
4-goblin = heartstone
5-revenant/accursed/soulstealers/undead = mostly MtG Art
(I have another faction - evil army - with a preview version for tabletop simulator use with GIJoe's Kobraold version preview)
