Comprehensive synthesis about “Recyclable materials in concrete technology: sustainability and

durability”
Concrete is the one of the most common material in the field of construction. It is an important
material that is used extensively in building, bridges, houses, etc. Concrete is basically made of
aggregates glued by a cementitious material paste, which is made of ementitious materials and
water. According to the research, the process to made concrete is not environmental friendly and can
potentially give rise to different sustainability issues.
The research objective is to promote recycling into concrete for common use in building construction,
with the aim of emphasizing the feasibility, as well as the advisability, of such an action, meeting
at the same time sustainability and durability. With the idea of recycling, the authors have also
considered what makes a concrete special. In gathering their data, the authors have sampled 4
unique recycled, each with their strengths and how there are made of. They gather their data using
the standards: Feasibility and sustainability. Technical improvement and durability in rating what
is the best.
I for one believe that Recyclable materials in concrete is the way to go in the field of construction.
Resources are limited and sustainability is hard to achieve, it is without a doubt that the resources
to make concrete would be gone. The research does not just tackle on how to recycle, it also includes
the most important part of a concrete and that is sustainability and durability. The research is
meant to give benefits to both sides : the environment and the fields of construction.
