 Shall be responsible for up keep and maintenance of Operation Theater.

 Possesses complete knowledge of surgical procedures and surgical instruments in order to assist
surgeons.
 Ensure sterilization of equipments and instruments required in Operation Theater.
 Shall be fully conversant with Pre/ Post Operation requirements/ procedure of the patients.
 Shall have liaison with Anesthetist and concerned surgeon to ensure the smooth conduct of
surgery. 
 Maintains list of In / Out Record of patients of OT.
 Ensure optimum level of inventory items in the Operative Rooms.
 Manage scheduling of surgeries/procedures including emergencies in each of the operation
theaters assigned in coordination with respective surgeons and for assigning suitable
paramedical staff and required equipment and instruments.

 Ensure adequate supplies of consumables, medicines and other items required in the OT.

 Ensure that all equipment in OTs are in good working order and that timely maintenance of the
same has been undertaken.

 Coordinate with vendors of equipment and instruments for training of staff in OT as and when
required e.g on purchase of new equipment/instruments.

 Ensure safe custody of patient files and timely return to the assigned wards with shifting of
patient, and confidentiality of patient’s information.

 Coordinate with Housekeeping Department for maintaining hygiene standards in the assigned
OTs, as required.
