Annexure-1

MODALITIES

1. You will have to fill up a pre arrival form & declaration form which are being shared to
you via email.
2. Students must submit Declaration from Parents of the Students, to be signed jointly by
the Student and the parents / guardians through email to Dean SW with copies to Dean
(R&C), HoD and Supervisor/FIC (T&P), prior to return. Non submission of this form will
lead to disqualification of the return.
3. The concerned student has to submit (through email) the filled pre arrival form to Dean
(SW)with copies to Dean (R&C), HoD and Supervisor/FIC (T&P) and contact the Associate
Dean SW (through e-mail or phone) for the prior information about date and time of return
to the campus. This scheduling is essential in order to follow the COVID-19 Protocol as
well as to maintain the process smooth.
4. On arrival, the boys will be put in the Boys Hostel 2 (marked as Isolation Hostel) and the
girls will be put in the Guest House (marked as Isolation Hostel). Food packets will be
served in rooms.
5. All the arriving students will have to undergo RAT/RT-PCR test on the same day or next
day of their arrival.
6. If the RAT/RT-PCR test is positive asymptomatic, the student will be shifted to the
respective Quarantine Hostel (For Boys: H1 and For Girls: Old Guest House) for a further
period of 10 days. After 10 days, he/she will again be tested. If the 2 nd test is positive, the
student will remain in Quarantine hostel for further period of 5 or 7 days and the process
will continue till the negative report comes.
7. Once the RAT/RT-PCR report is negative, the student will move to the designated hostel
(For Boys: Hostel 9C and for Girls: GH2). The student will stay in the designated hostel
for a further period of 7 days in Isolation and will not be allowed to come to the academic
/ administrative area. Food packets will be served in rooms.
8. If the RAT/RT-PCR test is positive symptomatic, the student will be sent to District COVID
Care hospital by Institute Ambulance.
9. At the end of the isolation / quarantine period at the respective hostel, the student will be
tested. The student will move to the designated hostel (For Boys: Hostel 9C and for Girls:
GH2) only when the RAT test is negative. The student will stay in the designated hostel
for a further period of 7 days in Isolation and will not be allowed to come to the academic
/ administrative area.
10. Even if the student tests negative but feels ill, the student will immediately contact MOs
and any of the Associate Dean SWs.
11. NIT Silchar will not be responsible for COVID treatment as it will be held under the
authority of district administration. NIT Silchar will provide transport facilities for positive
cases and also admissible insurance facility for treatment.
12. Any parent/guardian of COVID positive student will not be allowed for overnight stay
inside the campus.

13. The students need to observe 14 days quarantine (7 days in isolation centre & 7 days in
allotted hostel) on their arrival to the campus.
14. After the quarantine period in isolation centre is over, the student will be shifted to
designated Hostel (Boys: H9C and Girls: GH2). However, the health checkup will
continue and movement outside the campus will be restricted even after the quarantine
period.
15. During these 14 days, students must stay in their room and not mingle with other
students. Packed food will be provided, which should be eaten in the room and packing
material disposed off in designated waste bins.
16. Isolation Centre will be visited everyday by the MOs in sequence.
17. Students will bring their essentials which must include two sets of bed sheets as they will
have to stay in Isolation hostel till COVID test results are available.
18. Students are advised to bring 4/5 sets of masks and sanitizers and their own
thermometer and oxymeter (if possible) to avoid possible contacts. Every day their health
checkup will be done and will be recorded in a register.
19. No student is allowed to enter the room of other students during quarantine period in the
Isolation Hostel / Quarantine Hostel / Designated Hostel (Hostel 9C and GH2).
20. Each student will be placed in a single seater room in the Hostel 9C and GH2 when
quarantine period will be over.
21. The students returning by air/train/road must adhere to COVID-19 protocol of district
administration time to time. NIT Silchar administration will not interfere with district
authority in this regard.
22. All students will be required to complete a brief self-screen on a daily basis through the
Arogya Setu App and government guidelines prior to entering institute-owned property
or conducting activities, including research.
23. The permission obtained shall automatically get null and void in case of non-submission
of the documents mentioned in the “List of Documents to be produced at the Hostel” at
the time of reporting to the Hostel Office.
24. The students must follow the health advisories and precautions of Govt. Health Agency
and NIT Silchar during their stay inside the Institute campus.
25. Upon arrival on the campus, each student will do the following at the entry gate:
a. Undergo thermal scanning for body temperature measurement
b. Sanitize their hands and have their luggage disinfected
c. Undergo health check-up at the designated station
d. Collect their “Welcome Kit”
e. Download Aarogya Setu apps if not already done
f. Proceed to the Reporting Centre.
The “List of Documents to be produced on arrival to the campus” are:
1. Test report of active COVID-19 disease if possible (within 7 days before date of arrival).
2. Permission intimation from the Office of the Dean (SW) obtained through e-mail (only from
deansw@nits.ac.in).
3. Photocopy of Institute Identity Card of the concerned student
4. Photocopy of National identity Card (Aadhaar/PAN/Passport/Voter ID etc.) of the
concerned student
5. Duly signed “Self-Declaration/Undertaking Form” document as per the prescribed format
6. Campus re-entry form or pre-arrival form.
