3.3: Fred already turned down two jobs offers when he went for an interview for the job. They looked
at his driving licence and contacted his referees. A few days later, the supermarket offered him the job
and Fred accepted.

Harry didn`t hear anything for six weeks, so he phoned the company. They told him that they had
received a lot of applications. After looking at the CVs of the applicants and looking their qualification,
the company had shortelisted to six people and given them psychometric tests and they had then
given someone the job.

Over to you:

After a long period stuck in a job that I did not like, I had applied for a job where my friend works. It was
a referral, so I was directly through to the phone for the first interview. Within 2 weeks I had been called
for another interview, this time it was all about the skills I possessed, and I was selected.

The job that I applied, and I was hired it was advert in newspaper, on speciality recruitment sites and
thru the people that already worked there. I cannot say the selection process was long. Considering that
the whole interview, applications, checking the references I don’t think that the selection process was
long, rather than otherwise … scary 😊
