The business magnate Elon musk was invited on Joe Rogan’s podcast, ‘Joe Rogan experience’ to talk

about artificial intelligence among other things. In the past he has voiced his concerns about the future
of A.I. as the host has mentioned, but in this interview It seems like his opinion changed.

The founder of space x has taken a more fatalistic attitude towards the topic of artificial intelligence as
he realized that a form of intelligence superior to humans will most likely be out of anybody’s control.
However, he states that this is not necessarily a bad thing, just out of reach for most, if not all people.
Musk’s biggest concern regarding this subject is what people will use it for, his biggest guess being that
people will use A.I. against each other. In this case the consequences would be fatal.

The entrepreneur voices his worries about the way most people feed the artificial intelligences that are
already present without asking any questions. As he states, social media is the feeding ground for AI
developers, because people give out their personal information willingly. This helps continuously grow
artificial intelligence to the point when humans will represent just a small percentage of all intelligent
beings.

Because we as humans help maintain and develop artificial intelligence, a connection is created
between the two, the latter being dependent on the former until in no longer requires human
assistance. Musk admits he has tried to slow down the advancements in this field, however not many
people listened to him because to regulate something means wasting time on investigating what needs
to be regulated and how.

Joe Rogan points out his guest’s fatalistic view on the future and is concerned about how close we are to
the day AI becomes too powerful. Elon musk confirms that we are not decades, but years away from
that moment in history. He admits his company is already working on creating a symbiosis between
humans and AI s, making people more capable of different actions.

To sum everything up, according to Elon Musk, AI is a serious problem for the future that most people
who are powerful enough to create regulations ignore. The reason for this may be that they consider
that other people are already taking care of it, leaving all that work on the shoulders of a few people.
