SIIB has launched Online Student Tracking System. This data is very useful to provide to corporates during
placement season. This would also be helpful for providing letter of recommendation for students.

Students need to access www. siib.ac.in/students corner/online feedback to fill up student tracking as well as
online feedback (details mentioned below). Username and password will be given by the coordinator. The
same username and password should be used for online test as well.

Student should update the following information in the fields provided for it:

One time updation: Strengths, weaknesses, professional ambitions

Regular updation: Certification obtained; Participation in SIIB events, Participation in SIIB committees,
participation in SIIB team activities, Key achievements with SIIB.

The respective staff member updates the data viz, Semester-wise Attendance %, GPA, Backlogs, if any. Also
the information about merit/demerit cards/certification of appreciation / issuance of letter of disciplinary
action is updated.

Faculty members update on different attributes of students viz. his/her ability to express orally, ability to work
in a team, adaptability, analytical thinking/skills, co-operative, contribution in SIIB events, critical thinking,
ethical behavior, initiative, independent, leadership ability, presentation skills, reliability, writing skills.

At the end of semester II and IV, the class mentor faculty summarizes the student data on the

anonymous and only consolidated feedback is shared/analyzed.

The consolidated feedback is then used for a multitude of purposes like improving processes and
effectiveness of the above mentioned activities

SIIB E-Groups:
 SIIB E-mail Id is issued to all active students.
 All the notices/information for students from SIIB are sent to SIIB E-groups only.

Study Group:

Heterogeneous study groups of students are created. These groups are designed with an idea of giving
students an exposure to work in a given team and to understand practical application of the curriculum with
respect to a predefined product.

Faculty members are requested to use these predefined groups for giving any group assignments and also
request the faculty members to align the assignment to the pre-assigned products.

This arrangement will benefit students to know a particular product or company in detail. As also effectively
complete the assignment in a familiar group.

Internal Evaluation – Rules and Guidelines

Introduction

All MBA programs (full time, residential) at SIIB are of 100 credits.
Out of which, 30 credits are internal and 70 credits are external.
Out of these 70 credit courses, 60% is evaluated internally and 40% is evaluated externally.

Internal assessment is based on a pattern of continuous evaluation.

This evaluation pattern benefits both faculty and students as illustrated herewith:

 It helps the student to understand which topics they are weak at and how they can work towards
improving it before the final exams. It also helps faculty to assess student’s understanding and grasp
on various topics, enabling more focus on specific topics during the semester.
 Varied components of evaluation aim at developing the student on an overall basis enhancing their
particular traits and shaping their personality.
 Students get into the mode of regular studying from the start of the semester itself.
 Students are not burdened with one major exam.
 Syllabus for the tests would be whatever has been taught in class, before the test. Students are
responsible to obtain the study material from the respective faculty. Exam will not be cancelled due to
non-availability of the course material.

The Schedule of the tests given in the Calendar is tentative and can be changed, hence exams can be
preponed or postponed on short notice.

If Mass Bunking is done at exams, necessary action will be taken.

The Rule for Re test is :

 If a student misses any component of Continuous assessment, no retest will be conducted because
most of the faculty members would be conducting one extra component at the end of semester. This
retest will be based on minimum of 80% of the syllabus. Please note that marks of Extra Component
will be counted ONLY AGAINST ONE component missed during the semester. If a student misses
more than one internal evaluation component he/she will get zero marks in the concerned component.

 The Extra Component will be given to only those students who have informed the Internal Exam
department in writing prior to the test, that they would remain absent for the same mentioning the
reason.

(Estd. Under section 3 of the UGC act 1956, notification no. F-9-12/2001(A)-U-3 of the Govt. of India)
Accredited by NAAC with ‘A’ Grade

 Extra component will be given ONLY to those students who are missing the test on account of
attending any event/competition on behalf of SIIB (prior approval of faculty-in-charge is required) or
unwell/sick ( certificate of SCHC is submitted with coordinators)

Evaluation Process

Pre test
At the beginning of a semester, faculty submits an internal assessment pattern which contains the details of
their planned evaluation (break up of components and marks).

This is followed by the faculty for the entire semester. The components could be Quiz, Presentation,
Assignments / Group Work, Home assignments, Class Test (Written test), Presentation ( Individual / Group ),
Lab Tests/(On line test/, Mini Project, Case Study / Caselets (Analysis and Presentation), Viva Voice, Role
Play, Surprise Test ,Class Participation, Report Writing, Extempore /Debate, GD, Presentation based on Field
Work, Panel discussion, Peer group evaluation .

Online tests are the most preferred way of evaluation as the results can be declared immediately and there is
some flexibility for the students to take up the test. On line is compulsory for all students. On line test will be
conducted on a later date if a student misses it due to a genuine reason, there will be NO EXTRA
COMPONENT for it.

Based on the internal assessment pattern received from the faculty, compiled evaluation plan is displayed to
the students. Internal evaluation written / online tests are scheduled in the week days indicated in the time
table conducted by SIIB.

Other components are conducted in the class by respective faculty.

Post Test
 After the completion of the test, answer papers are sent to the faculty for correction.
 The marks are entered into the internal evaluation software by the faculty. The marks are displayed
Online on the Portal to the students .The students can Accept/Reject the marks online. In case, if any
of the student has a doubt in the marks given, he/she should contact the respective Program
coordinator regarding the same before interacting directly with the faculty.
 The student can register his/her grievance On Line
 The coordinators will further contact the faculty about the query. Later, the student is informed about
the outcome and he can check the same Online.
 At the end of the semester, a compiled marks sheet will be displayed to the students and this is further
sent to the Exam department for further purposes.
