position at a company in Mexico. John _told_ (tell) me that the company was hiring and that he
_thought_ (think) I might be interested in working for the company. I _said_ (say) that I was
interested, and he _told_ (tell) me he _would_ (will) talk to one of the recruiters about me.
A week later, a recruiter called me and we _set up_ (set up) a phone interview. The phone interview
_went_ (go) well, and the recruiter _told_ (tell) me that the next step was a face-to-face interview
in Mexico.
My employer _let_ (let) me take vacation and I _bought_ (buy) a round-trip ticket to Mexico City.
I _chose_ (choose) to take a flight with a long layover in Lima, Peru. I _took_ (take) advantage of

_went_ (go) to a traditional Peruvian restaurant where I _ate_ (eat) a great meal and
_drank_ (drink) a delicious pisco sour.
When I finally _got_ (get) to Mexico, I was exhausted. I _found_ (find) my hotel and
_paid_ (pay) for the room. I was so exhausted that I _slept_ (sleep) for almost 11 hours.
The next morning, I _woke up_ (wake up), _had_ (have) breakfast, and _read_ (read) the
paper. After that, I _spoke_ (speak)to one of the company’s recruiters and they
_sent_ (send) a taxi for me.
I _got_ (get) to the office at 9 AM. The receptionist _met_ (meet) me in the lobby and
_led_ (lead) me to the conference room. She _brought_ (bring) me a cup of coffee and
_said_ (say) that the recruiter _would_(will) be right with me. I _felt_ (feel) a bit nervous, but
I _knew_ (know) I had the right profile for the job. Fortunately, the interview _went_ (go) very
well.
After the interview, the recruiter _said_ (say) the company wanted to hire me. They
_made_ (make) me an offer and I _took_ (take) it. I _went_ (go) home and started making
preparations. I _quit_ (quit) my job, _sold_(sell) my car and _said_ (say) goodbye to my
friends and family. A month later I arrived in Mexico to start my new job.
