Complete the paragraph with the simple past form of the irregular
verbs in parentheses.

My last job wasn’t very challenging and I knew (know) that I wanted
to make a change. One day I came (come) home from work and
sat (sit) down on the couch. As I was watching TV, the phone rang
(ring). It was my friend, John. He told (tell) me about his new
position at a company in Mexico. John told (tell) me that the
company was hiring and that he thought (think) I might be interested
in working for the company. I said (say) that I was interested, and he
