Practices

Now I want to make some forecasts for next year. Very probably, competition will increase. There are
far more firms in the market now, so we must expect very stiff competition. Profit will not be high next year. In
fact, they will probably fall sharply. Almost certainly, interest rate will rise, and this will mean a rise in
unemployment. A lot of firms will go bankrupt. Of course, people will have more leisure time but they won’t
have more money in their pockets. There will not be many new business opportunities. We will have to work
very hard to keep our position in the market. Our investment in new equipment will not increase next year. As I
say, conditions will be difficult, but we must hope for better times soon.
