Lesson 6. Working Across Cultures.

Future Forms
HOMEWORK

Read the grammar rules about future forms.

We use will/won’t + bare infinitive to talk about predictions based on an opinion, on-the-spot decisions,
promises, offers, and when we want to show our willingness to do something.:
I hope she’ll hear me out.
I think I’ll go and have a coffee.
Don’t worry, I’ll help you with that!
I’ll do some overtime if you like.

We use am/is/are going to + infinitive to talk about predictions and general future plans:
If you don’t change, you’re going to ruin the relationship. (
I’m going to talk to her today.

We use Future Continuous to talk about an action that will be taking place at a particular time in the
future.
The team will be doing their best.
We can also use Future Continuous to talk about future events that are planned or decided, similar to
am/is/are going to:
We will be arriving in Prague soon.
We form the Future Continuous using will/won’t + be + ING of the main verb.

We use Future Perfect to talk about an action that will be finished before a certain time in the future:
Do you think we will have done everything by EOM?
We form the Future Perfect using will/won’t + have + Past Participle of the main verb
