1. Rcp=R+Ft-Fz for (0.25 min) Rcp= 23+(-0.35) -9 = 13.65


2.Precent Finer =(100) for (0.25 min) = ((0.97*13.65)/50)*100 = 26.841

Discussion :

The hydrometer analysis of soil, based on Stokes’ law, calculates the size of soil
particles from the speed at which they settle out of suspension from a liquid.
Results from the test show the grain size distribution for soils finer than the No.
200 (75µm) sieve.

Conclusions :

According to the experiment, hydrometer process is one of the method to


determine the size of particles that is finer than No. 200 sieve size (0.075 mm).
