Even though heat engines are still "in power" in the car market, electric cars are entering

the market
more and more strongly, with major manufacturers launching more and more electric cars to replace
those with gasoline, diesel or gas heat engines.

In terms of advantages, the following can be checked: low pollution, maintenance and even safety.

In terms of disadvantages there is the problem of power supply and low level of autonomy, but also the
lack of infrastructure for charging batteries

Advantages:

Degree of pollution. The degree of pollution of the electric motor is incomparably lower than that of
heat engines. Indeed, if we were to look at reality, the electricity used must also be produced. Electricity
production itself can create pollution. The use of electricity for the purpose of propelling vehicles does
not create pollution.

Torque distribution. In the case of cars with electric motors, the "running gear" looks different and
contains different components. There is no need for these systems that contain a lot of moving
components. Many moving components can be eliminated by using electric motors. In essence, the
route from electricity to wheels is: Battery - Electric power converter - transmission - wheels.

Efficiency of electric motors. Overall, electric motors can have an efficiency of about 90% compared to
thermal engines powered by diesel, gasoline or gas. This significantly higher efficiency of electric motors
compared to thermal ones is due to the fact that most of the components used to store, produce and
distribute the energy used to power electric vehicles are much more efficient. Electric motors and
peripheral systems produce heat and have other types of losses but are much smaller compared to
thermal ones.

Acceleration of cars with electric motors. A series car with electric motors can have an acceleration that
is between the same values as the fastest series cars or even speed cars. This can happen because the
electric motor can produce the maximum torque from moment 0 while the thermal one produces the
maximum torque at a certain speed and certain engine speeds.

Maintenance of an electric car. Due to the fact that an electric car has fewer moving parts compared to
a heat engine car, its maintenance is easier and cheaper. Indeed, as electric cars are relatively new to
the consumer market, places where they can be repaired or maintained are few compared to those
where thermal engines are repaired and maintained. This aspect will change due to the need for such
services that provide services for the electric cars that will be more and more.

Safety of electric cars in case of road accidents. Due to the fact that in the case of electric cars the
variant in which each axle has its own electric motor is preferred, the mass of the machine is evenly
distributed. In the case of cars with heat engines, the area where the engine was located was the
heaviest, and in the case of certain types of impact, the material damage and loss of life was great. The
fact that the propulsion system is distributed in several areas of the car this leads to a different behavior
of the car in case of an accident. At the same time, the danger of fire due to the ignition of fuel or pipes
in areas with high temperatures is much lower or even non-existent.
